@Shamgar84198094 @EerykMcRae "Identity" is explained by evolutionary psychology. A common identity has been necessary for survival; as top predators, humans compete with other humans so it has been necessary to evolve behaviors that recognise our own group.

Presently, New Zealand is being demographically replaced through migration alone by 0.5-1.0% every year. In recent years this has been as high as 2% When 30% of the people in this country aren't even born here, how can we hope to protect our own identity and interests?

New Zealand's changing face: a growing foreign-born population raises questions about belonging. What does it mean to belong when demographics shift so rapidly? Full interview: x.com/kaiviti_cam/st…

@darelmass I think we have evolved behaviors that trigger fertility and they are related to people v resources (spring grass). There is evidence this relates to whether people see roles for themselves.

@TheZeitgeistNZ Yes, why should majorities allow themselves to become "majority-minority". If Mai doesn't feel at home she could have re-emigrated to Taiwan?

Abolish the Ministry for Ethnic Communities and all other population ministries - saves money, reduces the size of government, and removes wokeness from the bureaucracy. Win, win, win.

Debt is too high, and discipline is slipping. Families across the country are tightening their belts to cope with the cost of living. They’re making tough choices every week. “They expect the Government to be doing the same. But instead, we’re seeing taxpayer money spent in ways that simply don’t pass the sniff test. An OIA has revealed around $30,000 was handed out through the Ministry for Ethnic Communities to fund a nationwide Gaza advocacy campaign. “This comes from a fund that dishes out more than $4 million a year, despite a select committee finding the Ministry can’t show clear evidence of meaningful results. Kiwis will rightly ask, how does funding overseas political activism help their community here at home? “The Ministry was set up to support social cohesion and help us understand each other. Instead, they're funding divisive political activism. "ACT would end the Ethnic Communities Development Fund tomorrow, saving New Zealanders $4 million a year. In fact, we would abolish the Ministry for Ethnic Communities and fold any functions that are actually delivering value into other ministries.”

@MHReddell it didn't happen in a vacuum; it is payback for a shift in moral architecture (from Lyndon Johnson to David lange). The shift was the sacrilising of the universal identity over the particular. In game theory, this allows defectors to prosper.

@NewstalkZB I am opposed to mass migration, however my sympathies are with the needy (not the elite). In 1950 the world pop'n was 3.3b now is 8b. Asians can stay in Asia. We might have incorporated the Pacific Islands into a greater NZ. Note: the new jobs aren't all skilled (of course).

Not really clear why - politicking aside - there is any need for a “plan” where there is a price (mechanism) Yet another article that never once suggests that price adjustments (perhaps sharp) would winnow out the least valuable (to users) uses of fuel.

Committee for Academic Freedom
In one of the most closely watched campus free speech cases in recent years, the County Court has delivered a mixed verdict on a claim brought by Cambridge academic Dr Nathan Cofnas, confirming that “anti-woke” beliefs can qualify as protected philosophical beliefs under the Equality Act while also affirming universities’ wide discretion to act when their expression is deemed “harmful”. That tension — between tolerance of controversial beliefs on campus and institutional control over how they are expressed — lies at the heart of the ruling in Cofnas v Emmanuel College, Cambridge. It is also why Cofnas lost, and why the judgment raises difficult questions about whether the Equality Act is an adequate vehicle for employment claims in which what is really at stake is academic freedom. @ElliotIkilei If you look at the other progressive comedians, they play in house to a progressive audience. Williams tries to make fun of ordinary people with a ready made script and editing. You will never see the same critique of the left, or their coalition partner (migration/property).

I've seen this Williams person use brown people to try and white knight himself. And why does he always target those he seems to want to bully?

NZF could put up better arguments, it seems to want to be a better National, however the key is a psychological shift between Labour's 1986, universality moral identity and the (original), particularist identity: who are we and to who does this land belong. Duncan Garner leaned into this when he asked Spoonley: "what does citizenship even mean anymore?"

If you were being charitable you could perhaps class this as a pro-family or pro-natal welfare policy. A good question to ponder though is how many immigrant families will receive it? Somewhere between 20-50% of it is likely subsidising our ethnic replacement.

WATCH: The government announces a new welfare package to assist with increased costs from the oil crisis - a $50 per week boost to the in-work tax credit, which will go to 143,000 low-middle income families with children. Total cost $373 million.

While it's fun to laugh at someone who wrote such obvious nonsense, i do have a broader point buried in the article too. It's hard today to think of someone from the British right writing a serious book –– in fact, it's hard to picture them even reading one
