People like Manny have found sanctuary in Peckham - building a business, a life, and creating a safe haven for other asylum seekers right here in our community. His story is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience and contribution that people bring.
At a time when too many are being left behind, it’s vital we continue to lead with compassion and fairness - building a community where everyone can feel safe, supported and able to thrive.

Thank you to everyone who attended Monday’s public meeting on Peckham Rye Station & Square🚆
It was encouraging to see such a strong turnout, reflecting the level of interest and commitment within our community.
We covered a lot - from access and bus disruptions, to demolition impacts like dust, and the bigger picture around funding and the station’s future. It was important to address these issues openly and make sure your concerns are heard.
Thank you to David Parton for organising, and for everyone who showed up for Peckham.

We're at Music Venue Trust's Venues Day in Shoreditch seeing how co-operative models secure grassroots music. Music Venue Properties has saved 7 venues by purchasing freeholds as a Community Benefit Society. Community ownership is the key to long-term stability for live music.

Get a grip @NJ_Timothy. Trafalgar Square has been used to host many different faith communities - this is something to celebrate not denigrate. We expect better of our politicians than stoking this sort of division & hate!

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

The #RyeLane Labour councillors launched a petition demanding lift access at the station back in September.
