Subagents are now supported in Codex. They're very fun and make it possible to get large amounts of work done *quickly*:

The bottleneck has so quickly moved from code generation to code review that it is actually a bit jarring. None of the current systems / norms are setup for this world yet.

Tried it yesterday. I was in the midst of transitioning from the initial Codex-as-driver config to using my GPU for a local model via Ollama. Hermes Agent was doing its thing, getting the model set up or whatever it was doing, and my computer's networking came to a screeching halt. I had to restart. My initial takeaway is that it should 100% be running in a hard sandbox i.e. a physically segmented machine.

Introducing claude-agent-server - run Claude Agent (the harness behind Claude Code) in a cloud sandbox and control with it via websocket. Claude Agent is actually a great harness for a general agent, not just coding. BUT it's hard to integrate because it's meant to run locally. claude-agent-server wraps the harness in a websocket server, exposes all the useful config options and streams down results in a type safe way. All hosted on @e2b so it can be spun up/down as needed. Websocket is actually a great transport layer for long interruptible agent runs.
