There's a fatal flaw in the logic of Universal Basic Income. You hear "If people don't have to worry about their basic needs, they will be more productive and do the things that they love doing." Sounds great, but it doesn't track with reality. In 2020, we handed out money and kept people at home. What happened? Riots, woke cancel culture, etc. Same reason you see protests at universities, it's kids without responsibilities or challenges. It's nice to think that people would be more productive with UBI, but it's more likely that they'll become bored and seek out non-existent problems and become disruptive.
