😊ACT OF KINDNESS: An elderly couple in Alcona County was happy to see our one of our EMHSD District Coordinators today who walked 1/4 mile down a frozen road to deliver food and water. The couple has been unable to leave their home due to several large trees in their driveway following this week's intense winter storm. The couple is doing great and was very appreciative. Our District Coordinator even refilled their generator with gas! Alcona County Emergency Manager Scott Rice is regularly checking in with residents all throughout the winter storm and asked we check on these homeowners. Please don't forget to reach out to your neighbors. With all the snow we just got, check around your home to ensure appliance vents and gas meters are clear, and gently remove any snow buildup. Blocked vents can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, furnace issues, or fire hazards. Make sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors.

Crews from Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio are standing with northern Michigan, restoring power to 25,000 homes overnight and continuing the work until every customer has the power they need.
