A Muslim woman is fined in Switzerland for wearing a burka with 100 Swiss Francs, appeals alleging "Islamophobia" and her fine rises to 1,000 Swiss Francs. This is Switzerland, the host country of the UN Human Rights Council!

Went to buy a bag of Maris Piper spuds in Tescos thismorning and they're all from Israel! They're usually from Norfolk, needless to say I didn't buy them.

It’s wild that Wimbledon has a ban on showing the nationality of Russian players, but Israeli players face no such restriction. If you’re going to have bans at least be consistent, otherwise it feels like genocide denialism with strawberries and cream.

This is why Islam is wining and growing fast. A mosque filled with children is a sign of a thriving future. If your place of worship is empty or elderly only, its a sign your religion is abandoned and dying.

I've seen on the streets how powerful even the idea of rent controls are that give people so much hope! Pleasure this morning to help launch a report by the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and the New Economics Foundation into making them a reality.
The Green Party@TheGreenParty

Rent controls would save households up to £2,400 a year and the Government £2 billion a year. It's a no-brainer. But only the Green Party has a policy to introduce them.

Here's what the landlord lobby don't want you to know: If rents went down by 20%, renters would save £2400 a year. The government would save £2 billion a year. And landlords would still make 4.5 times as much profit as the average business.

Calling Burnham's rise a coup misses the point. Labour faced a stark choice after May's catastrophic results. Starmer recognised it, Burnham has stepped up, and now the focus has to be on governing - not refighting the battles of yesterday. labourlist.org/2026/07/while-…

@implausibleblog Yeah the Bus comment is complete Bollocks and the Energy one is a little exaggerated , as usual the Greens will say anything if it means they get 1 more idiot to sign up to them and waste their money , lets see if their manifesto can be any worse as their one for last election 😉

Zack Polanski on BBC Radio 4, "Any country that says it will be hostile to us should be deemed a threat" "When Andy Burnham says we need to cut welfare to fund warfare, I don't think that's right" "I don't think we should be putting these things against each other" "We need to invest in our economy, spending multipliers" "For every £1 we spend on renewable energy we get £1.50 back" "For every £1 we spend on buses you get £4.50" "Defence though has one of the smallest spending multipliers"

@connor_naismith @andyburnham So he walks into no.10 because he won a by-election in Manchester and that is okay even though when tories did it he criticised them and called for an election 🤔 But apparently this is different. Bullshit he and labour our no better than the Tories, he will not win an election

Proud to have nominated @andyburnham to be the next leader of the Labour Party this morning. Andy's message of growth in every postcode and hope in every heart can defeat the forces of division in our country.

This is how they speak openly about us on Britain’s national radio called Talk Radio because we’re Muslim migrants. Why is disgusting language normalised by mainstream media? Will Ofcom investigate?

Nigel Farage is a grifter. He always has been and he's continuing to grift. He knew he was heading towards a byelection anyway so has pulled the trigger early. The people Vs the establishment?! Reform are literally part of the establishment.

@owenjonesjourno Very misguided if you think the Greens will transform their minor success , in certain areas , in local elections to a General Election . They may double their MPs but that will be it , it is a 3 way battle between Reform , Tories and Labour and Labour have fallen behind the 2

There’s a lot of talk about Andy Burnham being bad news for the Greens. But without the Greens taking Gorton and Denton, and battering Labour in the local elections, Burnham would not be on course to become PM on this platform. Whether he delivers is another question entirely.
