Rochester leaders are weighing red-light cameras and other automated enforcement as part of Vision Zero to reduce crashes. “I’m shocked and appalled by some of the behavior,” Councilmember Mike Patterson said. Public meetings start April 28. rochesterfirst.com/rochester/adam…

I’m convinced modern tech has made us forget how things used to work. My friend found this buried in the garden today.
Only a certain generation is going to recognize this immediately. If you know exactly what this is, don't spoil it—just tell me how many years it’s been since you’ve seen one. 🕰️🕵️♂️

@BobLonsberry Maybe if they stop treating blacks like their pets, racism will be much less of an issue.

ON THAT EAST END TOWNHOUSE PROJECT
How is opposition to the housing project at Charlotte and Pitkin not the red-lining of our day?
Rochester is good at condemning the evils of its past, and then replicating them in its present.
A black man wants to buy a half an acre of unused grass to build 20 housing units that will allow 11 lower-income families to become homeowners and nine of them to be landlords -- building equity for their families and providing good supervision for their tenants -- and the woke young whites in the neighborhood are trying to stop him.
And it looks like City Council is going to help them.
All in the name of a meaningless dog-shit laden piece of urban grass. It's not a park, there's not a playground, there are no statues, it has no history, it's just an excuse.
An excuse to keep poorer, darker people from moving in and having a shot at their own American dream.
These progressives talk a good game, and they self-righteously condemn the less enlightened, but when it gets real, they get real 1950.
And so the City Council is stonewalling the project.
Because when the choice was between the dreams of some black people and a half acre of grass, the powers that be chose the half acre of grass.
And if that's not red-lining, I don't know what is.
And if I'm the one who has to point that out, Rochester has a real problem.

@BobLonsberry A jury found him guilty. Will so-called law & order Blakeman undermine every jury verdict he disagrees with?

Chicago, there are credible reports of a teen trend forming in Hyde Park later today.
Parents, be aware of where your children are going this evening. DO NOT allow your children to attend one of these gatherings; they are dangerous and can often turn violent.
Together we can keep our youth and our communities safe.

@News_8 This is great. I’m gonna empty out all the animal shelters and acquire many dependents.
Because tomorrow I’ll write another check to the dictators as usual.
Or I’ll open an NGO Pet Learing Center and rake in the cash .

@AndrewMercado @Savsays This has all turned into two echo chambers. Most people are fatigued by mob mentality and ignore much of it.

I don’t support Savannah Hernandez (@Savsays) or the kind of propaganda she pushes with Turning Point USA. I’ve been critical of it and will continue to be.
The vast majority of today’s protest was peaceful and went off without issues, with people showing up to make their voices heard.
What happened later shouldn’t have happened. Savannah was filming, not engaging with anyone, and it escalated into a physical confrontation that ultimately gave law enforcement a reason to step in and declare an unlawful assembly, shutting the entire protest down.
I’ve dealt with this myself. I’ve been confronted, had equipment damaged, and even had right wing agitators show up at my doorstep to threaten me. All I do is film. It’s not fun, and it doesn’t make anything better.
I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating. During the height of Metro Surge, I let emotions take over in a moment involving a right wing propagandist and gave them exactly what they wanted. I got in their face, and I regret that. I have learned from it. My anger is better directed at the elite and powerful and not its pawns.
We’re all human, and tensions are high as hell in this country right now.
If the goal is to be heard, this is the worst possible outcome. It hands people like her exactly the narrative they’re looking for and undermines everyone who showed up in good faith.
