NEW: Man who tried running from police after stealing a car speaks out after filing a $100,000,000 lawsuit after he was left paralyzed from being tased. 27-year-old Jacob Root is now a quadriplegic after getting tased by Colorado Springs police officer Robert Comstock. Root's lawyers say that he broke his neck from the fall when being tased. Colorado Springs police have exonerated Officer Comstock of any wrongdoing and are standing by him: "Officer Comstock is a valued employee and is in good standing with the department." Root says he has no independence and relies on others to feed him. "That officer pretty much made a choice for me to be a prisoner in my body," Root said.

@LeadingReport If you ignore the fact that the issue before the court is immunity for things done outside of the office of president. Any of them can and should be prosecuted for crimes committed as candidates (election or reelection) or as private citizens. Presidents are not above the law.

@fabucat @VABVOX Carter was not a good president because his strengths were in one on one. He was one of the best statesmen the country has ever had, but the summit between Israel and Egypt was the only time that really made a difference during his term in office. Lost count since then.

@JamesHu29812484 The entire point of the Senate is equal representation among the states. The House is supposed to be equal representation from population (gerrymandering completely screws this up), but each state has equal voice in the Senate.

Population of California: 39,538,223 Population of Wyoming: 578,803 The 40 million people who live in the 22 smallest states get 44 senators to represent their views. The 40 million people in California get two. This is undemocratic and an unfair representation of voters.

Some years ago I had a conversation with a layman about flying saucers — because I am scientific I know all about flying saucers! I said “I don’t think there are flying saucers”. So my antagonist said, “Is it impossible that there are flying saucers? Can you prove that it’s impossible?” “No”, I said, “I can’t prove it’s impossible. It’s just very unlikely”. At that he said, “You are very unscientific. If you can’t prove it impossible then how can you say that it’s unlikely?” But that is the way that is scientific. It is scientific only to say what is more likely and what less likely, and not to be proving all the time the possible and impossible. To define what I mean, I might have said to him, "Listen, I mean that from my knowledge of the world that I see around me, I think that it is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extra-terrestrial intelligence." @john_e_burrito @PhysInHistory The mark of a good scientist is that when presented with new verified data that does not match the currently accepted theory, they admit they are wrong and start over.

@EvaporatingH2O @RationalAdult @PhysInHistory I did. And I defy you to find any scientist who states a hypothesis as fact. They will state a theory as something which matches the facts. A hypothesis is an idea which needs to be evaluated against experimental and/or observed data. A theory has done that.
