Keir Starmer has just popped to the back of the plane on our way home from the Nato summit in Ankara. He told us that Turkey's president Erdogan gave him, and all the other leaders, a surprising choice of gift: a revolver engraved with their names, with a box of live rounds. But the PM had to leave his in Ankara - despite it coming with a note from Erdogan waiving export controls - because it would be illegal to import it to the UK. Instead, it stays behind for decomissioning.

I have been a journalist for 32 years and spent many of those years as a diplomatic correspondent. I have covered numerous NATO meetings and summits, including those held in Washington and Brussels.
Unfortunately, due to NATO’s accreditation restrictions, I will not be able to cover the NATO Summit taking place in my own city, Ankara.

Başlığa bakıldığında, İsveç’te hizmete başlayan Karsan üretimi otonom otobüsün ilk gününde kaza yaptığı izlenimi oluşuyor. Okuyucunun zihninde oluşan ilk algı oldukça net: “Türk yapımı otonom otobüs daha ilk gün kaza yaptı.” Oysa haberin detayına baktığınızda olayın bambaşka olduğu anlaşılıyor. Otobüsün kendi kendine bir kazaya sebep olmadığı, arkadan gelen bir tramvayın otobüse çarptığı yazıyor. Yani haberin en kritik bilgisi başlıkta yer almıyor. Bu fark basit bir başlık tercihi ya da hatası olarak kabul edilemez ve Karsan'ın ticari itibarına yönelik olduğu için hukuki yollara başvurmak gerekir. @ScepticPhoenix @cepsizcorap Katılmıyorum. Aksanlı olabilir ama ablanın dedikleri gayet iyi anlaşılıyor. Rus ya da Hint aksanı da ağır olabiliyor mesela. Türkiye’de maalesef “Oxford aksanı ile konuşamazsam hiç konuşmayayım daha iyi” takıntısına girenlerin sayısı çok fazla.

@TfL got to say, crowd management at Seven Sisters station before Beyoncé has been pretty poor this afternoon. Long lines of aimless people, staff yelling incomprehensibly through megaphones. You manage crowds perfectly fine whenever Spurs play at home, so why the chaos now?

@zihinselorgazm Sure, they could do. But the article Gallia links to says THY kept the slots open during Covid by sending empty flights to Tel Aviv and back – but they're not doing it this time. Feels a bit like the end of a chapter.

There was a time not so long ago when Turkish Airlines was the second biggest carrier at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion after El Al. Now, it isn't there at all.

Scary earthquake in Istanbul just now. Early reports say magnitude 6 in the Marmara region, friends felt as far away as İzmir. Me and most of my neighbors are outside in the street waiting for possible aftershocks. There was a smaller earthquake near Silivri about 30 mins before.
