#BTC what is the significance of the Power in the Power law? In the case of BTC is 5.83. Let me give you an example in biology. The Kleiber's power law states that metabolism SCALES up with the power n of 3/4 of the mass. This means Energy consumption = M^3/4. The power is also the slope of the straight line in the log-log plot. Notice how 3/4 is less than 1. What is the relevance of this? Well, it indicates an economy of scale. It means that if you double the size of an animal the animal doesn't need twice the calories to survive, it only needs 2^3/4=1.68 the calories, if the animal is 3 times larger only 3^3/4=2.27 and so on. See as we have larger and larger animals they are more efficient in using the energy in comparison with small ones. It seems a small difference but it is not and it allows for larger animals to exist because they don't need so much more energy than smaller creatures in comparison with their size. This is why power laws are so cool, they tell us so much about the organizing principle underlying a phenomenon. About BTC then what about n being 5.83? It is the opposite of an economy of scale. It is an economy of abundance. It means that if we HODL 2 times longer we don't go up by a factor of 2 but (you guessed right) 2^5.83=56.8, if we HODL 3 times longer we go up by 3^5.83=604.8 and so on. Longer wait huger returns. #bitcoin = freedom of speech, the right to speak, write (incl. computer code), share information without facing punishment from governments. Bitcoin is just a ledger, an accounting system where people record transactions. Great leaders don't destroy but protect freedom of speech.
