No, I didn't go to Ranger School so I don't have the tab. Never even tried to get a slot. But I have the Imjin Scout badge, which means far more to me personally.

For about two hours this morning, as I was getting ready to leave the house to run errands, Boudicca kept approaching me and was far more talkative than usual. She even came in the bathroom and started meowing at me when I stepped out of the shower. Couldn't figure out why she was acting like this. When I came home to eat lunch, I realized that her crinkly fish was missing from its usual spot. Spent the better part of an hour searching the house and finally found it stuck under a piece of furniture. It is now back in its proper place under the dining room table.

@MichaelGrahamSC The question is, why don’t rich people build houses like this anymore? It seems the smaller their families, the bigger and uglier their houses become. I think there’s a connection.

When I took the estranged wife to get her first pistol, I emphasized that what looks good/cool is the least important factor. How comfortable it was to shoot and handle is the most important. I made her try out several on the store's range before making a decision. There are firearms that I won't touch because they just don't fit right in my hands or they're painful to shoot.

@MichaelGrahamSC In NY State you need a colonoscopy from the Sherrif before you can own one. Felt bad for my friend who didn't realize he has tiny hands. He got his permit and realised a 1911 is too big for him. Sadly a little unsexy, but you know, size matters in the world of firearm collecting

I don't own a Colt 1911, shocking I know, so this would be a nice addition to my collection.

Out of every disgusting, dishonest piece of filth the mainstream media has produced about Hurricane Helene... This is the worst. 60 Minutes has NEVER done a story on the families FEMA denied. They NEVER mentioned the Amish, who are STILL in the mountains rebuilding homes 550 days later. They NEVER mentioned Jake Jarvis, who has worked 550 days STRAIGHT FOR FREE for Hurricane Helene victims. Instead, they dug up some fringe conspiracy angle to smear the people who actually showed up as White Nationalists. I'm so angry. Let me tell you what 60 Minutes will NEVER report on I was there. I lived it. I am still here. I shared every story I could find. Me, my wife, hundreds of volunteers delivered RVs to mothers holding babies who were sleeping in TOOL SHEDS AND TENTS in the freezing cold, in the mountains. Because their homes had been ripped off the side of a mountain and washed down the French Broad. So tell me 60 Minutes... WHERE WAS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? Tell me, WHY did all these volunteers NEED to show up? Any thoughts on that?!!!!! Any investigation AT ALL into the federal or state government's response to Hurricane Helene? Please tell me... if the federal government was doing such a GREAT JOB, why did we need to put victims in RVs... ...A MONTH AFTER THE HURRICANE?!!!!!!! Literally every single victim you talk to in Western North Carolina has a horror story about dealing with FEMA... ...and guess who they will all say actually cam through for them? Neighbors. Church groups. The Amish. The Cajun Navy. Shawn Hendricks. Samaritan's Purse. MercuryOne. The Mission Mules hauling insulin up washed-out roads, ONLY ACCESSIBLE by mules. Greg Biffle burning his own fuel in helicopters. Veterans like Adam Smith who organized helicopter rescues with other veterans BY HIMSELF and then was demonized by the media for it. Volunteers like Jake Jarvis working TO THIS DAY, 550 days later without ANY PAY AT ALL. THOSE ARE THE STORIES FROM HURRICANE HELENE WORTH TELLING. But 60 Minutes won't tell ANY OF THEM. Because the truth makes the federal government the villain and the "deplorables" are actually the heroes in this story and they can NEVER admit that. So instead they smeared the rescuers as white nationalists. This is unforgivable. I was there. I saw it with my own eyes. And I will BE DAMNED if I let CBS rewrite the history of what happened to my mountains.

This crap is why I refuse to teach a "self-defense class". I've seen enough of this charade where people pay good money, train for an hour or so, and then walk away thinking they are better off defensively. I won't go into the specifics of muscle memory, action/reaction, and converting initial training into instinct....but none of it happens in an hour. If I had an hour to teach such a class, the students would never leave their seats. We would spend the entire hour discussing the holy triad of an attack/assault until people showed they clearly understood how poor decisions equal undesirable consequences. If all three of these are not together at the same time, there will not be an attack/assault: 1) Victim 2) Attacker 3) Opportunity End of lecture...that will $100/person and you can have a free glass of wine (red/white) from one of the boxed wines on the table.

We have a whole gun store packed full of guns. No clue why @TheRascallion can't just scurry to the back and pick something out, oh no, Rascal has to traverse time and dimensions and risk tail and hide for the guns he brings you good folk.
