Just like other despicably bad employers, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are weaponising terms and conditions in a pay dispute with Doctors. The difference here however is that cutting 1,000 training posts for resident Doctors will ultimately hurt the general public most.
Good Morning Britain@GMB

1,000 NHS training posts that were to be created for resident doctors have been cancelled by the Government, after the British Medical Association failed to meet a 48-hour deadline to call off industrial action next week. The Prime Minister issued the ultimatum to try and stop the walkouts. @SwainITV has the latest.

🚨 NHS staff are refusing to use Palantir's data platform on ethical grounds. When the people delivering care don't trust who manages patient data, it should not be ignored. Ministers must listen. 👇 ft.com/content/dbb670…

They are NOT YP candidates or members. Walsall Community Independents are a separate party. CEC have allowed dual membership for WCI for this election. WCI decide who joins their group not YP. 2 of the WCI candidates are YP members, both former Labour Cllrs who joined last year.

Trump and Israel are bombing civilian bridges in Iran. Not military targets. Bridges that let people escape. Roads that let ambulances reach the wounded. Food, medicine, water: all blocked. We saw it in Gaza, then Lebanon, and now Iran. This is systematic assault on civilians

The US military reportedly committed a "double tap" strike in Iran. The "two strikes had hit the bridge around an hour apart, the second arriving while emergency responders were assisting the wounded," even though rescue workers are protected civilians. trib.al/KRzSayT

Keir Starmer utterly silent on the war crimes that are happening. He'll drone on about a special relationship but nothing to say on war crimes in Iran, Lebanon, Palestine. Trump and Netanyahu able to behave like we have law of the jungle.

Absolute bombshell. UNRWA Commissioner General confirms that investigations found ZERO evidence for Israel's allegations against their staff. Yet, the Washington establishment still passed laws to defund the vital humanitarian agency. They starved millions based on a lie.

.@schneiderhome: ".. the way for the Strait of Hormuz to open is for Iran to stop being bombed. So if those countries [like the UK] want to open the Strait of Hormuz they should be pressuring the US and Israel who started the war to stop their bombing.." Its as simple as that

Starmer uses the Trump playbook for negotiating - call off strike or we’ll attack the place you work bit.ly/41Mjptq withdrawing the pay offer might be a reasonable response, condemning newly qualified doctors to unemployment is bizarre.

Whatever you think about resident doctor strikes, the govt's decision to downgrade the NHS by - yes, you read that right - "reducing reliance on doctors" is appallingly short-sighted. This will punish patients, who have a right to access high quality care from appropriately qualified medical professionals. How exactly is improving the NHS compatible with reducing its numbers of doctors, @wesstreeting? This is exactly what Jim Mackey appears to be announcing 😳

The US government, hand in hand with Israel, are making public threats to wipe out civilian life in Iran. Despite this rhetoric, the British government continues to let US war planes operate from UK bases. They must end their participation in this war immediately.

This is bizarre and unjustifiable. Starmer is punishing the NHS, meaning all of us, because he cannot force doctors to accept his pay offer. Voters will remember this in May. Starmer withdraws offer of extra training places  to punish resident doctors thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…

Keir Starmer said he reversed cuts to the winter fuel allowance because he recognises we're still in a cost of living crisis. Meanwhile, he's cutting disability benefits by 50%. Are disabled people not in a cost of living crisis? @Keir_Starmer @stephenctimms @patmcfaddenmp
Dr_Rebecca@Dr_Bekka_UK

As of today, Labour’s welfare cuts mean if you become sick or disabled, you get 50% less support. These are people medically unfit for work, being punished for jobs that don't even exist. When In opposition Labour said they would protect the vulnerable. Heartbreaking.

But the country is not being run on the basis of what we need. It is run for political & private commercial interests. When you have absolutely no political vision or ideals, & are simply in power to be in power, whether or not we train more doctors is just politics🤷‍♀️
Annabel Denham@AnnabelDenham1

This is absurd. If we need 4,000 training places we should have them. If we don’t, the Prime Minister shouldn’t be offering them as a bribe paid for by the taxpayer.

Palantir's UK boss is calling campaigners "ideological" for opposing their £330m #NHS contract. If by ideological he means respecting human rights, data privacy and a health service that serves patients not profit... then yes, we're ideological. theguardian.com/technology/202…
