Yes, it is a parasitic worm known as Spinochordodes tellinii. Mantis’, crickets, and grasshoppers alike ingest this worm when it’s a microscopic larvae; the worm subsequently grows inside the host, and when mature, actually possesses the insect to drown itself in a body of water. Sensing the water, the worms exit their host, and continue the life cycle.
