@Easy_E @cb_doge You're missing the entire point of DEI. It's not just about race. It helps disabled people and women, lots of different groups of people. Age is a big one because an employer is not supposed to be able to judge someone based on that. Why is everything about race???

Rubin publicly backed the changes and helped appoint the task force co-led by producer DeVon Franklin. He shifted the Oscars from “best movie wins” to race/gender engineering. A film can now be ineligible for the top prize purely for failing demographic quotas, regardless of quality or audience impact. Instead of focusing purely on talent and storytelling, the Academy under Rubin institutionalized identity preferences. Oscars prestige and viewership have tanked. Many see it as performative politics over art. Classics with non-diverse casts would be disqualified. He helped install the DEI machinery that turned awards into checkboxes and accelerated Hollywood’s quality decline.

No argument. No warning. Just pure cowardice. What kind of person looks at an 81-year-old and thinks, “yeah, that’s my target”? This isn’t just crime… this is a complete collapse of decency. He posed a threat to everyone present, including the officers. Failure to put him down before he fired a shot was just that, a failure.

OK, I've never been law enforcement, and perhaps you LE types can explain this. A guy just charged the entrance to a ballroom with the President, Vice President and Cabinet in it, while carrying a shotgun, a pistol and some knives, and he apparently got off several shots, including hitting a Secret Service agent. So here is my question: How is this guy still alive?

@timclemente @CynicalPublius I don’t think it was hesitation….it was simply restraint. They took him down without lethal force & didn’t want the possibility of firing & hitting any in attendance on accident.

@CynicalPublius I'm a cop, retired FBI counter-terrorism agent, FBI Firearms Instructor, & SWAT leader. The issue is inadequate, unrealistic & passive firearms training, most of which is designed by lawyers to avert risk, rather than prepare for combat. & fear of prosecution causes hesitation.

@CynicalPublius My guess is the fear of crossfire. If you are trained well enough to apprehend without lethal force, it’s safer for all those in attendance. I saw one video & heard someone yell “Watch your crossfire!
