I used to struggle understanding a while ago how could Bitcoin really be a store of value if it was not backed by anything? Then, I realized the answer is simple. Unlike the US dollar, which is a poor store of value, you can TRUST Bitcoin that there won't be more than 21 million coins. There is no other current asset that we can verifiably say so about, even gold since there is no mathematical formula or definite proof that shows this. Also, Bitcoin is arguably the ONLY asset that is not manipulated by a central entity and is backed by miners that provide energy to be able to keep the network alive that actually allows you to store your own value. People, especially of older generations, fail to understand that value does not have to be tangible, and this is why they say Bitcoin is going to zero. The equation is simple, do more people want a decentralized asset that is finite and with pre-known growth and limits? If yes, the price will go up.
