Very happy to report the Senate has just supported the Greens move to force Commissioner Brereton and the Deputy NACC Commissioners to appear at the upcoming Senate Estimates hearings - accountability has to include everyone at the NACC even at the top!

This bloke doesn’t recognise that he’s a part of a generation that has never or will never exist again. A generation with cradle to grave prosperity. Never before in history has a generation benefited so much from the hard work of their parents and the economic circumstances of their adulthood. Bouris has less in common with his hard-working father than a young Australian trying to make ends meet in uncertain times. He speaks of the accumulation of property as some form of human right, that it’s some form of Australian story, but it’s really a situation and a mindset that has only been enjoyed by a small group of Australians. Bouris literally made his fortune giving Home loans away in the first homebuyer grant period of the early 2000s, and he helped to contribute to an industry that is the most overinflated economic property Bubble on the planet. Bouris probably doesn’t remember Australia, whereby governments build houses as a human right, where Menzies era governments of both persuasions owned the lions share of rentals in the country. Not rich immigrant property magnates, not money obsessed Australian entrepreneurs. The only reason this fellow can talk like this, it’s because his lived position allows him to do so. A point not lost at all on the people who can’t really do anything right now.

My first thoughts on the Treasurer’s budget last night. I’ll be sitting down with highly renowned economist Chris Richardson today to break it all down. The conversation will be available on all podcast platforms tonight

Welcome to a broken Australia. ▪️The community seems to be just a tag-along annoyance to the people ruling us. ▪️The RBA rate rise slams the community, while the budget looks to throw them pennies. ▪️Meanwhile, the foreign extraction of our wealth continues, the country is becoming a foreign military base, as our neoliberal economic managers grind us down. Homelessness explosion: “Three million people were at risk of homelessness, where one setback like job loss or illness could mean losing their home — up 63% since 2016 to 2022. “Rental stress is worsening and lasting longer. In 2023, 54% of low-income renters were in rental stress, with 21% paying more than half their income in rent — the highest rate in a decade. “Rental stress is driving homelessness. Between 2020 and 2023, the number of people seeking help because they couldn’t afford housing jumped 36%.” homelessnessaustralia.org.au/wp-content/upl…

Why can't we have nice things? There are plenty of reasons, but one of the biggest is that the government refuses to tax gas exports—resources that belong to all Australians—properly. My thoughts on reports the Albanese Government has backed gas company profits over the health of the budget and the will of most Australians.

@DavidPocock @MelisaB39884862 Credit to you David. We are sick of being told to tighten our belts while the gas corps milk us dry To now be told we are disingenuous, it’s the ultimate insult especially to those struggling to make ends meet. But without you, we wouldn’t have voice. Thanks David. Keep fighting

@boganintel It’s certainly very isolating when people think you’re a drama queen or just a nutter. The disappointment I feel with many people who choose not to care or see. It’s hard to stay friends.

I know about the isolation of awareness. And it’s one of the hardest burdens to carry. But it’s worth everything to pursue, and it begins to yield a clarity and calm that can get you through anything. It’s worth the discomfort, it is truly living.

ASIO Amendment Bill No. 2 has officially passed Parliament — 106 Ayes to 8 Noes. This is no longer “temporary anti-terror legislation.” It is now permanent law giving ASIO police-state style powers over every day Australian citizens. What the bill actually does: Removes the sunset clause — these powers are now permanent Allows compulsory questioning of children as young as 14 Lets the Attorney-General personally issue questioning warrants — no court approval required Makes it a criminal offence to tell anyone (including your family) that you’ve been questioned Gives ASIO the power to reject your chosen lawyer and severely restricts what your lawyer can do or say during questioning Strips away your right to silence — you must answer their questions or face jail This is not about catching terrorists anymore. This is about giving an intelligence agency the power to secretly drag any Australian in for interrogation without suspecting you of any crime. 106 politicians just voted to hand ASIO these powers. Only 8 had the courage to vote No. Your right to remain silent? Your right to proper legal defense? Your right to know when the state is targeting you? Gone. Eroded. Normalised. This is how freedoms die — not with a bang, but with a quiet division in Parliament House. Share this widely. Australians need to know what just happened behind closed doors. #ASIOBill #PoliceStateAustralia #FreedomUnderAttack #australiawakeup

Are we ever going to be able to wind back all this over-hyped antisemitism bullshit once we finally get a government that isn't beholden to genocidal Israel? The laws changed, procedures changed, fabric of education etc., is utterly ridiculous and harms Australia 🤬

US/IRAN - Blame Game Continues Following Lost US Battle Amid Continued War on Iran Claims that Israel "tricked" the US into war with Iran is simply blame-shifting and scapegoating after a lost battle amid a still unfinished war. The notion President Trump suddenly decided to launch a war based on assurances from Israeli PM Netanyahu is detached from material reality and documented history. The war against Iran in 2025 and 2026 was not possible without the collapse of Syria, the eradication of its air defenses, and the creation of an air corridor to Iran itself. The collapse of Syria in 2024 under Biden wasn't possible without the US-engineered "Arab Spring" in 2011 under Obama and the preparations for it including the training of opposition groups and the arming of extremists which took place under both the Bush and Obama administrations. US war on Iran has been a continuous bipartisan agenda carried out across multiple US presidencies - Republican or Democratic - driven by the corporate-financier interests most benefiting from US primacy worldwide - including the arms industry and big-oil. By playing into this scapegoating - people are affording the US plausible deniability and giving them space and time to prepare for next battle in this war under the cover of public ignorance. Take that cover away from them - force them to do it out in the open - ensure they AND their proxies are BOTH held accountable - and EVERY administration past, present and future that aided and abetted in it connected to it - and just maybe we can begin to break this cycle of global death and destruction.

I don't think many people see my tweets these days. If you would like to hear from me, retweet or just reply. Say something silly, I'll respond instantly with something in the same vein that's even sillier, or possibly a little bit less silly. Hard to say.
