Off topic, but it’s frankly weird that Australia, which prides itself on fairness and rejects class, doesn’t have a death tax. A hereditary caste that concentrates inter-generational wealth makes a mockery of the fair go.

Officially, Australia does not have a death tax. But two separate tax developments in recent months have confirmed that death taxes are due to become a lucrative new area of tax revenue. @MickFloyd @Craig_Foster Wrong. Every tonne of CO2e makes a measurable difference. And there is the multiplier effect by other nations doing the same. Australia at least 15 years behind actions that Europe has taken.

Expect to see a surge in independent journalists holding governments at all levels accountable for how taxpayer funds are applied.
Governments (local, state and federal) need to have checks and balances in place to stop / reduce / eliminate fraud.

Nick Shirley: Massive welfare fraud is being committed — and I didn’t come to Minnesota to accuse anyone without proof. I came for evidence. What I found shocked me: daycare centers receiving millions in tax-exempt CCAP funding, yet neighbors say they’ve never seen a single child inside. Locked doors. Blacked-out windows. No access. No transparency. This isn’t a rumor — it’s a pattern. I’ve been investigating this since last June. What started as a demographic story turned into something far bigger. People on the ground kept telling me the same thing: fraud was happening in plain sight. Churches turning into mosques. New “daycares” popping up everywhere. And behind it all — millions of dollars flowing with zero oversight. When I arrived in Minnesota, the first daycare told the whole story. Windows completely blacked out. Doors locked. No way to enter. These places literally had signs that said learing instead learning. Ask yourself — what legitimate business operates like that while collecting millions in welfare funds?

A major milestone for the Suburban Rail Loop. The first cutterhead has arrived in Heatherton - the first of eight tunnel boring machines that will dig 26 kilometres of twin tunnels from Cheltenham to Box Hill from next year. This project will slash travel times, cut congestion and make life easier for busy families. And it will deliver more than 70,000 new homes - all within walking distance of jobs, healthcare, green spaces and our largest universities.
