Missing Middle Omaha

🧵(1/5) This morning, six Omaha neighborhood organizations sent the following letter to the Omaha Planning Director, City Council, and the Mayor's Office requesting changes be made to legalize Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) throughout Omaha.

Showing up to City Council can be intimidating, but we also know it is incredibly effective. We hope to get as many folks as possible to attend the Dec 6th meeting to show support for the plan and ask for accountability for implementation. 📣

I'm in New York right now. Look at this completely reasonable triplex, two front doors and a side door. Totally legit housing on an R4 size lot. Parking is not an issue on this street. #MissingMiddleHousing

ADUs can support lots of people at all phases of life. We should legalize them in Omaha! Thank you Eli for sharing your experiences with us tonight. 🏘

Start diving into the @PlanningOmaha survey results. You might want to open the page on a desktop computer. So many #MissingMiddleHousing types that we should be building, but single home buyers and large developers are stuck mostly at the extremes. Bring back the middle types!
