@fubarfreak5@TRHLofficial I am divided on the pros and cons of regime change in Iran; when in doubt, I default on Not War. Either way, this was a preemptive strike without congressional approval, which is therefore unconstitutional
@TRHLofficial@MightyHeaton@TRHLofficial serous question why do you lament a war against an enemy that has kill hundred's if not thousands of American and has funded Terror all over the war?
America has often been hypocritical in executing its foundational beliefs. But the reason that criticism holds weight is because the ideals we've fallen short of are so awesome.
@MightyHeaton takes stock of the United States on its 250th birthday.
@StoogeRunner@MightyHeaton I was just going through and… huh, what happens when the Ayatollah falls! He didn’t get everything right of course (didn’t expect most everyone at the top to experience sudden kinetic discombobulatiin spontaneously!) but it was very informative. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…
@knightofdice@GatorJimmies@LupinBandit@Timcast Sorry, guy-with-17 followers, but I don’t accept criticism from people too cowardly to use their real names on the Internet. Either learn basic economics, or grow a pair.
Another issue @MightyHeaton had on @Timcast is not grasping that when you outsource your low skill work there’s no one for your manager class to manage. Do they move and start managing foreign companies? This is the one instance where the rich do get richer and the poor, poorer.
@GatorJimmies@LupinBandit@Timcast That could be the outcome, but it’s not the goal. I outsource labor to the guy who changes my oil; I don’t want to be in charge of him, outrank him, etc. You can shoot for mutually beneficial exchange without wanting dominance and hierarchy.
@LupinBandit@MightyHeaton@Timcast That’s what the liberal economic order is. The goal was for American workers to be the managerial class to a world of low skill workers who earn pennies on the dollar compared to American and Western European counterparts.
@MightyHeaton had a strong episode last May on occupational licensing on his Political Orphanage podcast, featuring guest @HawAllensworth , author of The Licensing Racket: How We Decide Who Is Allowed to Work, and Why It Goes Wrong.

@MightyHeaton I don't think it's your birthday, my invitation to your party always seems to get lost in the mail, but I had #Grok make you a present anyways.
@TRHLofficial@MightyHeaton Heaton has, so far, maintained gentlemanly composure in the face of Tim's, let's say, empassioned argumentation. That said, for a man donning a windowpane check suit, Heaton has a surprising dearth of knowledge about the skateboard industry and skater culture. 🫠
@StoicConsultant@Timcast I disagree, but Carl, I LOVE this pushback! It’s smart, it’s high level analysis, you know who Ricardo is, and you don’t make a character attack. Wish folks like you were more common!
Regarding last night's episode of @Timcast with @MightyHeaton, everyone lost largely because neither can articulate accurately what the problem is. Libertarianism works with moral, rational actors. It does not work with anti-liberal governments like the CCP who seek to undermine the liberal system with the belt & road initiative. Eventually, what this does it create a system where China owns the world & the US is the last man standing.
It is also a false narrative to pretend that current International Trade =/= Ricardian Trade Theory. Stop using Ricardo as the premises in the real world of gov't & intergovernmental bureaucracies with too much power.
Last night's conversation was chaotic because it failed to bridge the gap between theory & reality.
