Whether you like the Waddle trade or not, the whole 'timeline' thing rings hollow to me. The man is 27, with three years left on his contract. 'Not on timeline' makes it sound like a 6 year rebuild, which it's not. I'm fine with the trade, but this is believing 1 and 3 and better 4 - in their eyes - are better than Waddle.

Denver got a talented receiver, but the Broncos didn't get a steal. If anything, the Broncos paid too high a price. Bottom line: Only if they win a Super Bowl will it be worth it. If they get the big ring, the trade is a success. That's how this will be measured.
