Wanted: a good react tool to show slides from my talk on my blog + I want to add some text to each slide. Basically a blog post split into multiple slides. Does it exist or do I need to build it?

@wesbos I remember wanting to import a pair of unbranded in my student days. 35% customs on clothing and then 15% vat on top of that. Instead I did the raw thing vicariously by convincing my brother to pick up a pair of Weird Guy's when he was in Eu 😂

@Mike__Murray__ Ohhhh awesome, I just went back into my photos and have been wearing selvedge for 15 years! Fav brands are Naked & Famous, Nudie, Iron Hearts. N&F also sells the same cuts under "unbranded" brand, but made with/in China instead of Japan/Canada. Goof stuff!

@wesbos Oh damn!!! We don't have Uniqlo down here in 🇿🇦, but I was in Japan and picked up two pairs in indigo - first selvedge and they were cheaper than the Indonesian Levis we get here!

@Mike__Murray__ uniqlo selvedge surprisingly. I was wearing naked & famous for ~9 years, but I was blowing through the crotch+knees way too fast for $200 jeans, so I tried these out and they have been fantastic.

Rest/Spread of generics isn't possible in TS, is it? I have a MONSTER with 5 generics that I need to extend (merging isn't an option) and I rather not have to retype everything

@TkDodo This resonates with me! However someone once told me that blog posts are leters to your future self. I think the exercise of outlining and sharing your thoughts is more important than the novelty of the content

I'm guilty of this sometimes. Thinking that the topic has been covered before and what's the point of me writing about it again, just in slightly different words 😔

The primitives found in @tan_stack Query and Router are way more similar than I originally thought, even beyond the latest beta. It's more obvious now that the boundaries of their roles need to be redrawn for Router and the integration paths better paved. Good stuff on the way!

Well. It's been a very frustrating and painful last few days.. but I now have a PR up that migrates RTK 2.0 alpha to full ESM (+CJS), _and_ migrates our Jest test suite to Vitest... and it's finally ALL GREEN! github.com/reduxjs/redux-… (I'm gonna go to bed now thanks)

@samselikoff accordingly. I.e. I can no longer back squat, but front squats and split squats are totally fine and can result in an equally good workout. Also, bias to reps instead weight. It helps a bunch to slow down a little and be extremely strict with form

@samselikoff I'm so sorry to hear man.. I've been dealing with something similar since 2009. Had surgery in 2018. My advice would be read Stuart McGill's Back Mechanic, figure out your triggers and intolerance. This most likely won't be something that ever _goes away_. Adjust your workouts -

Just found out I got a disc herniation and bulge in my L4-S1 segments from some lifting 8 weeks back 😭 Did light PT for it back then but going to get on a strict regiment starting tomorrow. Any tips from folks who’ve been down this road?

Cringe fo sho, but highly effective. In defense (that really shouldn't be necessary, but here we are), I yielded to the nickname as opposed to inventing it.

@TkDodo @nerdess @t3dotgg 😂 I thought as much. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!! Every single variable/function assignment is memoized/useCallbacked. It's 𝘧𝘶𝘯

@Mike__Murray__ @nerdess @t3dotgg 8 smelly. You can do the same thing with 1/3 of the code. The memoizations are also funny. The context value itself is the only thing that isn't memoized, but it's the one where it would matter 😅
