seeing the love on the blocmates account recently has me feeling a bit reflective. the market has been rough, attention is low and skatty and most accounts are dead right now but for whatever reason blocmates seems to get more love during the hard times and i think that says something about what we’re building we’ve never bought followers, never bought engagement, never done any of that shit, never followed the typical playbook we just try to make content that we’d want to read, listen to, and watch ourselves. that’s it. there’s no secret formula. we try to keep it down to earth, by the people for the people, and never bend to external pressure just because it’s the easier path it’s a much harder way of doing things you don’t just purely optimise for revenue (that comes later and we know how to turn that on in the right way), you optimise for building something people actually trust and come back to. that takes longer. it’s more stressful. there are way easier ways to make money in this industry. but i genuinely believe it wins out over time i think a lot of brands and companies in this space would kill for the kind of organic loyalty and affinity that our audience shows the blocmates account. and that’s not us being clever (usually quite the opposite), that’s the team putting in insane hours every single day to make sure everything we put out is something we’re proud of. 12ish people across the world grinding it out, punching above our weight and backing because they actually give a shit so yeah, just wanted to say that. really proud of what we’re building and really grateful for everyone who is with us

the trick is that they all started with users that are in crypto and there’s a reason for that the same reason waymo starts with sf and Facebook started with university students
