@KarlM1973 @ianmSC I don’t understand why youre targeting that disposition, when it is the “strong and emotionally rational” men that incessantly hate on Supergirl to the point of boycotting, online hate campaigns, celebrating its financial failure, and even ai slander, that caused this problem?

@MilicntByStndrr @ianmSC You’re the one opining on the reason the movie has bombed, I’m just pointing out the eternal struggle of women At once, strong and independent yet delicate and scared. Pick a lane

“Supergirl” was initially expected to make $65-70 million in its opening weekend, and as its box office run winds down, it’s made $66 million in the United States…total Legitimately one of the biggest box office failures in movie history. Really nailed the marketing and PR guys

@SpiritShepherds @Johnny_Warning Let’s stop saying slurs. And bro? Rittenhouse shot two black people?? Are you sure youre thinking about the right guy? And yes it did happen. You still can’t even address the rest of the list I had made. How can you be this disingenuous.

@MilicntByStndrr @Johnny_Warning Ok, now I know you're a retard. Rittenhouse didn't shoot a single black person. LOL No, it didn't happen. No slaves were skinned to make items. A physician turned some cadavers (not slaves) after slavery was no longer even in the US.

@JC1964JC @ianmSC Writing was mostly compelling and based off one of Supergirls premiere comics. The lead did amazing in this role I’m so confused why people say that. Gunn is really good at manipulating emotional beats and displaying unique feels in his movies, his movies are wildly different?

@MilicntByStndrr @ianmSC Writing was lazy. The lead actress was woefully miscast. Gunn is a one-hit wonder who keeps repeating himself, tonally/thematically, over and over. More people realize this. People are sick of being told how they're expected to watch something or told not to watch it at all. etc.

@quikheart @ianmSC And krem having the antidote on his neck is explained in the movie if you read between the lines (it’s a unique poison and incredibly lethal, one only he wields so obviously he’d want the antidote - the only one in existence - close by in case he poisons the wrong guy)

No - if "swell" is the extent of your criticism, "stupid" is appropriate for mine. You will not understand this, but I was hyped for Gunn's Silver Age take on the DCU. I liked Superman - hell, I liked the Creature Commandos. Supergirl is a supreme Silver Age creation. This messiness is for dark Marvel characters, and if you go with it, you need at least to nod to her Silver Age origins. Krypto could have done that, but they put him in a coma for the duration. You have to realize you're watching something stupid when the villain has the magic antidote AROUND HIS NECK, and every new scene is an excuse for Kara to lose/regain her powers. This was a wretched piece of movie writing - truly below the below average. Box office returns only confirm my opinion. I can sense and feel that you are invested in this movie more than I am - I've explained why I looked forward to it and why it wasn't that. Your messiness doesn't even come into my mind, grrrrl, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

@quikheart @ianmSC And yes, for stakes to happen, Supergirl and Superman need to either lose their powers and regain them during the fights, or fight a kryptonian, this is faithful to the source material comic, and normal for Superman movies.

@quikheart @ianmSC You know her movie is based on the comic “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”, right? Thìs particular movie wasn’t supposed to feel all Silver Age, Gunns whole thing about the DCU is that the vibes of each corner of the universe (different characters movies) will feel wildly different

@MilicntByStndrr @ianmSC Female-led movie bombs its men’s fault for not going. Also if women don’t go, men’s fault. What happened to strong and independent? Zero accountability. Sad and a horrible example to younger girls.

@CCruick14 @ianmSC The audience the movie resonated with wasn’t comfortable going into the fandom with people that mass produced hate against the movie and Milly Alcock online?

Imagine the ego it takes to say that every great work of Western culture was done wrong - because it doesn’t focus on women. That’s what Lupita Nyong’o just said about "The Odyssey." Batwoman said the Batsuit would be perfect... when it fit a woman. Phoebe Waller-Bridge described her insipid character as someone who could “outsmart” Indiana Jones, and repeatedly characterized her as his equal or superior in interviews. And screenwriter Semi Chellas take on Shakespeare posits: “What would "Hamlet" look like if we made it all about Ophelia?” This is, of course, insidious. Because none of these women have the talent to create their own timeless works, they’re desecrating ours. And they’re doing it in a way that makes the result narrowly-focused, dull, and WRONG. Author Anne McCaffrey (Dragonriders of Pern) once published the mandate, “Pornographic sites based on any of my literary works are expressly forbidden.” These feminist rewrites are essentially THE NEW FANPORN. The creator builds the world, populates it with the characters they love - and then WOMEN come along and PERVERT all that. Homer told the story he wanted to tell. Shakespeare did the same. PERIOD. It’s not for lesser minds to come along and rewrite them to suit their needs. And especially when the characters they choose to focus on are notoriously BORING to watch.

@MilicntByStndrr @KarlM1973 @ianmSC So, wait. None of the sexist men went to see it because they were sexist. But at the same time, the space was full of sexist men keeping women out? Which one is it?
