@stchouse100 What annoys me the most is that your bank didn't give you a heads up. SARS can contact your bank to take your money but they can't ask for your bank for your current email address to send you a reminder 😉 And screw the bank too. No heads up, poor show 🤑

17%, Stats 2 at UCT. I will never forget! The year is 2010, and we all think we are these clever little shits, laughing at our lecturer’s East African accent. The man would pronounce words like “value” as “var-yoo”, “ninth” and “neent” and so on — really immaterial accent differences that didn’t change the content. But we’d crack up childishly each time. Until he set Test 1 and chose only the advanced level questions! Okes came back with single digits and teenage marks. It was also then that we found out he’s a Cambridge PhD holder. The day after the marks were released, the man continued as always — “varyoo”, except this time there was not a single laugh. Because chaps needed 92% in Test 2 to get DP and qualify for the exam!

My distant cousin ran away from home when she was 14. Went to Dundee... well thats where she was spotted. She was under the care of my distant Aunt. She ner went to look for her. The mother was notified ( working in Jhb), didn't come to look for her daughter. About 4 years later, my father spotted her in Dundee and caught her. She told him straight away that she doesn't want to return home because her Aunts husband was sensually abusing her. Her Aunt despite being told on numerous times, accused her of lying. Told my Dad where she lived (with a man from Orange Groove Dairy). She had a child by then. Said she will only return if her Mother fetched her. My Dad left her and came to Jhb to look for the Mother. The mother had her own life with a Moz man and had 3 kids. The mother agreed to fetch her. Fast ffwd, she came to live with her Mother. History repeated itself. Slept with stepfather and fell pregnant. Mother chased her away. Went to live in a squatter camp with her two kids by now with another Moz man. Fell pregnant with baby number 3. We came to know after her brutal death with her 3 kids that the stepfather killed them. Apparently baby number 3 was fathered by stepfather. They continued their affair. Out of jeleousy, the live in Moz guy burnt them in the shack and ran back to Moz. Told a friend that it was revenge. At the time she was 24 with 3 kids. The Aunt in KZN never left her man who sexually abused her Sister's child. The Mother in Jhb never left her Moz man. My Cousin paid the ultimate price. I cut of all my relations with them.

Lmao I have 2. Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi. Mother Teresa let dying patients be treated with blunt reused needles, had a mortality rate about 40% in her clinics and when she was confronted about the conditions, said there’s something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, and to suffer it like Christ’s Passion. Doctors called her facilities “homes for the dying”. And cancer patients were given aspirin for pain. Gandhi too, the face of universal peace, the person that said “be the change you wish to see”, spent years in South Africa describing Black Africans as “savage”, “dirty” and living like animals. He campaigned actively to prove to British rulers that Indians were superior to native Black Africans. He also organized a brigade to help suppress a Zulu uprising. His defenders say he evolved. Maybe. Nobody likes to talk about the entire sides of history. And these are their summarized versions btw.

Nairobi, final reflections. Despite Nairobi being a haven of NGO work, impact funds, climate workshops and every species of grant funded virtue, one hears far less of the heavy socialist sermonising that so often drifts through Southern Africa. Why is that? I didn’t find a Karl Marx road as we did in Maputo…. Perhaps Kenya’s commercial bloodstream is simply too strong. Nairobi may host the NGO cathedral, but outside its stained glass windows the city is hustling: traders, founders, developers, agents, boda boda, financiers, exporters, coders and small businessmen all trying to make a shilling before the next traffic jam. The traffic jams here in the middle of high traffic and rain are extortion writ large. But the uber driver earning thrice the fee wasn’t complaining. Nor should we, but the wait time at a restaurant can stretch up to two hours, with the usual retort of “I’m almost there” serving as a signal to order the next dawa. The intellectual mood in Nairobi is softened by enterprise. Even the social impact crowd seems more likely to speak the language of scale, platforms, mobile money and market access than nationalisation, redistribution and state led salvation. Southern Africa, by contrast, still carries a heavier liberation era grammar. Politics there often begins with the state, the party, the struggle and the promise that history owes someone something. Nairobi feels more impatient with that theatre. It has its own dysfunctions, certainly, but its instinct is more transactional, more entrepreneurial, more “where is the opportunity?” than “where is the manifesto?” That may be why, even in a city full of NGOs, capitalism still manages to keep the microphone. I like it here….

@xoxoshakshak @Noxxcee @Tessa_Dooms The problem is that we tend to bw quick to label & throw around words like "xenophobia" so casually, which actually have damaging repercussions for the country as a whole. Often times done from a point of convenience to try to make sense out of very complex issues.

#BhaskorONews!! 🔹Mr Skoprihihorihihadhozi (President ED) is executing a coordinated, low-profile return to the country within the next 60 to 90 minutes, perfectly mirroring the exact tactical strategy used during his secret departure. His arrival utilises a distinct two-aircraft formation, a Boeing 737-7Z5 Business Jet (BBJ) modified for VIP transport, extended range, and secure communications to carry him and his inner circle ⭕️ who departed with him a few days ago. Operating along a synchronised flight path, a secondary heavy-duty cargo jet accompanies the BBJ, the same jet that transported high-value assets on the day of departure. 🔸This coordinated arrival is timed perfectly to slip through specific blind spots in radar coverage. No details are available about the flights; the details are completely masked, so that both aircraft can slide back into national airspace completely unnoticed. We see you! We are tracking the flight ✈️! @nickmangwana @dhonzamusoro007 @HonZhemuSoda @

Update on North West 🔥🇿🇦 It’s been a full month since all the Ethiopian/Somali “Makula” Spaza shops were closed in the entire North West province❤️ My friends/Makula in the Township are still struggling, but our local businessmen have now shifted focus to the Town. Today they went to the wholesalers and big shops owned by Ethiopians, Indians, Pakistanis and Somalis giving them clear orders: **Do not open on Friday, 15 May 2026.** All foreign-owned shops have been given until Friday to operate. North West businessmen have promised to shutdown ALL foreigners shops in the province. South Africa belongs to South Africans. Let’s keep pushing 👊 #Abahambe #PutSouthAfricansFirst #NorthWestShutdown 🇿🇦🔥❤️

Things are getting worse in North West 🔥🇿🇦 Since all the foreign Ethiopian/Somali spaza shops are closed, my friends “Makula” are going through a lot. Here we see him having a heated figh$t with his wife and daughter😭 the wife and daughter are chasing him out of the house because he can no longer support them and bring food from the shops. My friend lost it when his daughter told him she will show him “where the dog sleeps at night.”🤣 He told them to fokof and he’s not leaving the house. He has been living in Mzansi for over a decade, has three children here, and says he’s been supporting them with R900 every month for years. My friend one aba tshosetsa gore o tla ba bolaya kgotsa a fisa ntlo fa ba ka mo leleka mo ntlong. South Africa belongs to South Africans. Let’s continue supporting our local businessmen. Till to date there is not a single “Makula my friend” store operating in the entire North West province .🇿🇦🔥❤️🙏 #Abahambe #PutSouthAfricansFirst #NorthWestShutdown 🇿🇦❤️

My passport, will expire in July. I've had to go to the SA embassy here in China to apply for a new one. Generally, it is advised to apply for the renewal at least 8 MONTHS in advance. Not knowing this has led me to pay quite a hefty amount to ensure that the process is expedited from back home. When my passport returns, I'm supposed to go to the Chinese Migration office to have a new visa stamped on it. Then I need to go to the police station to redeclare my residential address. There are few other steps that I have to fulfill to ensure that my new passport reflects on every system I use here in China. One thing I've noticed, even from other foreigners from other African countries who are here, they carry this panic feeling whenever they have to renew their visas... It's a stressful and rigorous process. I've met quite a number of them who are here on study Visas. If they miss a couple of classes, they are in trouble. Because what else are you doing besides being a student? THIS is a result of an EFFECIENT immigration control system. If you are found to have overstayed your welcome, you are deported with no discussions, no protests, no negotiations or greasing of the palms... You HAVE to go! Meanwhile in my home country...
