@mybmcWardMW @mybmcInfra Contractor had given date of 15th May to complete ka gaikwad road. Chembur. The road is not even half done. Next year will be year 3 of this work. Why dig up everything if you ll take 4-5 years for one 200 meter road??? Is there no accountability or deadlines?

@MTPHereToHelp It is necessary to clear this. Ridiculous that trucks and cars are being parked perpendicular on a busy road under construction! Pls TOW these vehicles away parked for months immediately.

@prasannavishy The staggeringly slow development has killed the spirit of Mumbaikars who are all listless and fear to go out of their homes. Last 10 years of state of road dug upness with no end in sight is unprecedented even for Mumbai.

@VishalBhargava5 Yes! Seeing it for the past 15 years that a few greedy members stall the entire redevelopment. Had they had any capability apart from inheriting a small flat in a mid locality, they would have moved out long ago..but the pain they have inflicted on the rest of the society!

I’m glad that finally a developer has slammed the stupidity of several societies in Redevelopment. They are treating their homes like a Casino to gamble away. Unfortunately by the time the realisation hits them, the damage would have been done.

@AdishankarS Where’s the value outside the house? It’s disgusting to step out and risky as well. Better we get a home gym, balconies and plants inside the house and make it so you don’t need to step out.

Good to note people seeing the value of infrastructure outside the house instead of the inside. Always felt people attached more value to the standard of living (granite, modular kitchen, interiors, etc) and not the quality of life (what you get outside the house in the city)

@siddharth3 Our people don’t want footpaths seemingly. They either park their vehicles on them or drive two wheelers or put plants or tapris. Unless people and enforcement changes even giving us footpaths won’t help.

The reason why such encorachment happens is because there are no standardised footpaths integrated into neighbourhood designs. Make footpaths everywhere. The greatness of a nation hinges on the existence of footpaths.

@rajuparulekar Absolutely. All the work being done is shoddy and unfinished at most places after taking years at it.

This is the perfect glimpse into the making of our infrastructure. Great engineering with complete lack of common sense. They are just interested in floating tenders and issue of Work Orders. The execution of works and the professional workmanship, its utility and quality are no one’s business. What is goes through this junction at at high speed, assuming there’s no signal❓
