@AmbrumMiss What a cool program! Looks appealing and seems like it’d be lots of fun for kids. Our aim is to reach towards 60-120 minutes a week so this would be a useful resource to get there! Thanks

Here is an awesome program ran by Fit4Kids, coming into schools delivering fun & enjoyable lessons that children will leave feeling exhausted! This awesome initiative helps kids reach their at least 60 minutes of exercise a day! #educ4750 #SDG3 #UoNTeach fit4kids.org.au

@AmbrumMiss @madigoddard9 I didn’t know! Perhaps a task where students could compare the two, find the differences and answer questions such as why? What is better? Etc etc. A good opportunity for collaboration & skilled communication!

Did you know there was 2 different healthy eating guides? I had no idea! Thanks for sharing @madigoddard9. Incorporating this into your classroom can be done by students differentiating the foods or puzzling the plate back together. #Educ4750 #UoNTeach #SDG3 #ATSI

The Australian and Aboriginal guide to Healthy Eating. The Australian poster is a visual representation of the recommended consumptions each day of the five food groups. The Aboriginal version includes traditional Indigenous foods eg. Damper. Would you use this in your classroom?

@kurt_eckmann @HDRUNDP A GREAT idea! Incorporating 21st century learning skills such as ICT and perhaps collaboration if you used group work? Could even make this an assessment. This would improve students awareness of the #inequities & get them discussing ways to decrease them! Thanks for the website.

You could ask students in Stage3 to research a specific country and its characteristics. The @HDRUNDP has a great website that may be useful. It provides statistics on country indicators such as poverty, health and education #Educ4750 #UoNTeach #equity hdr.undp.org/en/countries

#WorldHealthDay2021 focuses on decreasing health inequities & creating a fairer world. Growing children's knowledge on these inequities through research & discussions in the classroom will help create a healthier/supportive world. Perhaps a research task? Is this important? #sdg3

@Paige_Gabriel1 Great idea! Using it in the orientation phase of your first lesson, to get students minds in the right place for the unit! Introducing them to some vocabulary and ideas that will be visited/used throughout their future lessons.

@LaurenG68654208 @Paige_Gabriel1 So more theory sides of things (lesson within the classroom), but discussing practical PE and its benefits for our overall health? Thankyou!

#SDG3, there are many aspects to touch on! Mental & physical health being the major two. Teachers also doing this SDG for their unit, will you be incorporating practical PE lessons? Or more or so focusing on the theory side of healthy eating & benefits of being active. #educ4750

Teachers focusing on #SDG3 what 21st Century learning skills are you thinking about integrating?? Im thinking of choosing skilled communication & self-regulation. I think these both will come in to play when doing lessons on emotions and mental health. #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach

@KatieUoNteach I totally agree! Physical activity/health links to mental health and vise versa. So makes sense to focus on both and their #interconnections! Thanks for your input.

FELLOW TEACHERS DOING #SDG3. Im curious to know if you are going to have a major focus on mental health, physical health or do 50/50 for your unit? Im seeing a lot of mental health/wellness/mindfulness. Would love to know your thoughts on this! Vote & discuss #uonteach #Educ4750

@RebeccaMisseld1 They also create a space for collaboration and skilled communication! Creative activities like the gratitude tree give students, particularly visual/hands on learners a space for learning about themselves and their peers.

Ideas like these allow us, as teachers, to check in with our student's mental health! I believe the way our students learn is a direct derivative of how they are feeling, so it makes sense to establish how they are feeling emotionally before we teach. #UoNTeach #SDG3

An example of a S1 Picture Book called 'Ruby's Worry', teaches children the importance of sharing their troubles rather than bottling them up. It is a basic way to introduce #MentalHealth with a beautiful message. #SDG3 Do you know of any other books emphasising #Wellness issues?

@Paige_Gabriel1 Such a successful program.. it not only provides the opportunity to eat & spread awareness of fruit/veg consumption, but it gives students a little brain break as well!

@MissMillan01 A great article! It is so important to integrate Indigenous aspects into our units. It is not only a cross-curriculum aspect but you also may find that the ATSI population within the school you have chosen is large! Focus on the 8 ways pedagogy & histories/cultures!

The best video I have watched so far on #SDG3. Click the link to see statistics, future health directions, how the government & community can protect/promote our health & more. Would you show this clip to your students? Perhaps Stage 3! #educ4750 #UoNTeach youtube.com/watch?v=z_jjX-…

Wow this an awesome resource! It has links for students, teachers & parents to explore. Will definitely be using this for my unit. Maybe an ICT lesson where students can go on devices to explore the site! A user friendly website with some great ideas. #Educ4750 #SDG3 #uonteach

@madigoddard9 This is very engaging! You could even use the poster as an outline for lessons, perhaps for the older years! Discussing and focusing on the 6 points!

The poster by Margreet de Heer, is a brilliant, engaging, and innovative way to introduce #SDG3 into our classrooms. Would you use this bright and appealing image in your class? #Educ4750 #UoNteach #goal3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">margreetdeheer.com/eng/globalgoal…
