teachers who left teaching but still wanted to stay in education, what did you go on to do??? just curious about the different opportunities there are with teaching/school experience! (not looking to leave yet, aiming to beat the 5 years😆) @MrTs_NQTs #edutwitter

the thing is, the other couples could’ve scored 40 every week from the beginning and it still wouldn’t have been as impressive as what chris and dianne have done. anyone who doesn’t get that is in their own silly little ignorant bubble. #Strictly

Great teachers are: Tough on behaviour Consistent with expectations Clear with sanctions They are also kind and caring and inclusive. The qualities above are not mutually exclusive.

Personal news: after months of stress, my U.K. visa is approved. I’m heading to Oxford University. Thinking of my grandmother, who was married off at 16. My mom, who the Taliban banned from school in the 90s. My sisters in Afghanistan, who cannot study. You’re with me. ❤️

I don’t know Margaret but she just stopped me in the street and said “I’ve seen what’s going on and it’s not right. You should feel safe in this country and I want you to know I’m not racist.” You might think how can I possibly make a difference? She did in her own little way.

So I’m rewatching Glee over the summer holidays and I’m going to turn this into a thread of all the things I would CPOMS in a heartbeat. 1. A teacher’s wife asking to adopt a student’s baby without their knowledge.

@ReceptionMissF partner work - explain it as odd numbers make us sad as when we try to share with our friend we don’t have the same amount, and even numbers make us happy because we can share - use facial expressions + thumbs up/down & get them to join in (i’m SEN and this helps jog the memory)

any good maths CPD or places to look into getting better at maths SK in general - mainly misconceptions and breaking things down into smaller steps? maths is my weakest subject and at this point i fear i am worse than the children 🤣😭 #edutwitter @MrTs_NQTs

@MissHoIIinshead @MrTs_NQTs I did 20 years primary school teaching then left to retrain and qualify as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) working in schools delivering 1:1 and group interventions. So I moved away from the academic side of working with yps and took an SEMH pathway instead.

@MissHoIIinshead @MrTs_NQTs Thank you. ☺️ One things for sure, having gone full circle and returned, you can be sure it is a ‘trade’ or vocation you can return to, so if you ever do decide to venture away - you are welcomed back with open arms! 💜

Hello
Hello@shang1308·
@MissHoIIinshead @MrTs_NQTs Just looking at your bio- SEMH experience would work well in a pastoral role and could still provide career opportunities further down the road, if wanted, as a lot of schools have assistant heads for MH and well being.

@MissHoIIinshead @MrTs_NQTs I left in 2011 to run my own event company, creating fun & educational workshops for children in shopping centres during the holidays. Worked all over the UK. Returned to teaching in 2020 now I have children & I’m home during the holidays. Teaching is where I’m staying 💜
