@admcblog I actually liked this event. As someone who's played for a while, it didn't make me bored or seem monotonous like some of the updates (no offense) I do think they should do more games similar to the doors one at Halloween. It got players more interactive with each other again

@BSlickComposer It's crazy how normalized it is to say things like this... It's also crazy how fast people are to jump onto drama and demonize people who have been nothing but positive figures in the community.

I was in a nice restaurant in Paris and my 9 month old baby girl started crying. An older woman, the owner, power walked up to me with her arms stretched out, speaking French, and grabbed my baby and held her against her cheek. So sweet, in broken english, she demanded I sit down and enjoy my meal and that she would take care of her new little princess. They both looked so happy after a few minutes of pacing, and I swear the chef prepared a comically large, full chicken and mashed potatoes for my bay girl of which she had half of all over her face within minutes. This was not the only time on my trip that an older woman stopped what she was doing to help us. I walked into a bar, midday, asking to use their bathroom changing table. They laughed and said that was not a thing in Paris. They moved everything off of the bar and insisted I change her diaper right there. Gross right? Nobody in the bar was phased!! They looked happy to be helpful! It was embarrassing to accept help at first until I realized that it was truly their pleasure and their culture. (Now that a couple of my kids are looking more like adults than babies, I get it. You miss having those babies around.) I LOVE helping women with their babies. I do not claim to know any more than them, but sometimes it just takes someone who is “not mama” to distract them. And for the parents, this empathy means the absolute world. I rarely experience family friendly moments like this, even in the South. Asheville restaurants have turned away my very well dressed family, and even said comments like “we’re not that family friendly. You should try the pizza place down the street.” We went to Kiawah Island every summer for years, but after multiple experiences of being turned away after them seeing we have a toddler with us, I am done. It’s really sad because it’s not just the restaurants fault, it’s our culture that is allowing this to happen. If people were excited to see children in public, their restaurants would follow their lead. I would love to get back to traditional southern culture, where children and babies are welcomed members of society. Where it is not just OK to bring them out of the home, it is encouraged. I would love to get back to a culture of community.

That's my idea for Chinook Mall which has been emptied from all the big stores; massive botanical forest that for people to enjoy all year and a restaurant that grows its on food in there. Also what I want for the Saddledome. Instead of demolishing it, make it a all year round world class gather space for all Calgarians. But there is no out of the box thinking here or ambition.

My kids just ate $40 dollars worth of these berries...as a snack. It's so ridiculously expensive to put proper nutrition in them. No idea how people manage it, and if they don't, what the long term health consequences are.

@LDonivan @carsi110 @thecavemommy @resbizmag The only time anyone thinks that is when the kid is running around and doing whatever they want because the parents won't parent and are too absorbed in their own phones. Most restaurants are family friendly, except obvious places, like bars.

@carsi110 @thecavemommy @resbizmag parents for bringing their kids to a nice restaurant- "omg take them to McDs." It's like now that there are spaces specifically geared towards kids, you're not supposed to take them anywhere else or ppl freak out.

Look, I’m not saying you’re a bad parent to give your kid an iPad when you’re out to eat. But if you just push through and don’t give in, avoid nice restaurants for a while and practice at places like Starbucks, Panera, and Cracker Barrel - eventually when they’re 2 1/2, you’ll be able to take him to a coffee shop and fellow patrons won’t be disturbed by his presence when they’re trying to study. You actually will get compliments. He’ll sit in his chair well behaved and eat his snack, having a conversation with you. Then look out the window and watch cars go by for entertainment when you have to nurse the baby. Obviously every kid is different - but just never give them the iPad and see what happens. Once you give it to them, it’s hard to take it back. Kids won’t learn how to behave in public if you don’t just take them in public and practice.

This man was a high school football star until he got charged with a rape of a 16 year old girl. The charge was eventually dropped after 16-year-old girl confessed that the rape never happened. Unfortunately, he spent 6 years falsely imprisoned and broke down when the case was moved to dismissed. Do you think this girl should face any consequences? And if so..... what?

@1111Nebula @Tablesalt13 Babysitting courses here cover basic first aid and cpr, it's possible she had taken that previously. If not, she was doing what she thought was cpr and did her best. That poor girl will remember this for the rest of her life

@Tablesalt13 Did he say this person was a student and not a teacher? Not many 12 year olds know CPR, not impossible but highly unlikely.
