A huge thank you to @abigail_steel for organising such a brilliant event today.
We discussed how we can support older learners with phonics and what role it has within everyday learning.
Brilliant as always to network with other teachers, we even came away with a goody bag 👀

@Mr_Leggatt @missm_fernandez Lady Elizabeth Milkton of Ford 😂 it started off so well.

@davidowens88 @MrMoonUK I think that a lack of interaction is a teacher's kryptonite! It's difficult to find out how to still get it from behind a computer screen.

Our department has been delivering recorded lessons, which have been doing fantastically so far. However I miss interacting with the children! Does anyone have any tips of how to incorporate live lessons every now and then? Is it effective?

@JohnHayes1908 I've heard about Forms a lot, I think I need to get experimenting with how to use it! Thank you for the advice!
English

@MissLeemingUK Integrate a Form at the end of your recorded lesson to capture student understanding and to find out what they think is difficult. Run the next lesson live to deconstruct their responses and model the answers. Then run the same Form again, showing instant progress! (Hopefully)

@mrsjwalker84 @MissDwyer17 That sounds like such a good idea! I bet it breaks up the week to have some interaction!

@MissLeemingUK @MissDwyer17 and I have been hosting a weekly live drop in and super fun quiz with year 8s once a week. Will tell you about it in our GMeet tomorrow 🙂

I spent 20 minutes deciding which Gif would be the best to use for my form. I decided on a cat using a laptop. This is what online learning has come to. If no student comments on it, I will be severely upset.

It's moments like these that make you proud to be a teacher ❤️ The students were excited to take part and this was echoed in the amount of care and effort that was taken.

Thoroughly enjoyed judging the #nationalpoetryday2020 submissions from students at @ArmfieldFCAT, with @MissLeemingUK. With 50 entries on this year's theme of vision, we were absolutely blown away with the quality and variety of our students' ideas. Here are our winning poems!

For National Poetry Day this year, the students at @ArmfieldFCAT were challenged to write their own poem based on the theme, 'Vision'. The pictures show just a few of the fantastic submissions we received.

The face of someone who just completed the most bizarre NQT year. To celebrate the end of this crazy term I treated myself to a bath and pjs by 5.30 followed swiftly by a bag of chips on the sofa! I know how to live! Below is my happy end of term face! 😁 #teamenglish #endofterm
