Donald Trump, a self-confessed sexual assaulter, being named Time's Person of the Year over Gisele Pelicot, who was drugged & raped by her husband & 100 men for YEARS, and who waived anonymity to change the world for women, shows you exactly why women are rightly fucking ANGRY.

The way the British media reports on violence against women is a disgrace. A woman whose husband let 72 men r**e her is presented as getting ‘revenge’ not justice, a woman set on fire by her ex-boyfriend ‘died’ but was not ‘murdered’. Language matters!

When Junior Doctors are on £16 an hour and MP's are on £46 an hour. And raising the Junior Doctors pay by £4 an hour is unaffordable, even though they just raised MP's pay by £5 an hour. It's hard not to see the lie. RT if Junior Doctors NEED paying.

- Unhappiest kids in Europe - Fewer children than ever reading for pleasure - School buildings crumbling - less than half the target of teacher trainees - Biggest retention crisis - Morale in the profession the lowest ever - Ofsted… The list goes on. They’re delusional

Under Labour, only 68% of schools were rated good or outstanding. Now, thanks to our fantastic teachers and the reforms from this @Conservatives government, that number is 89%. We're sticking to our plan which is delivering high and rising standards in our schools.

“I’ll expect you to feed me, bathe me, brush my hair, hold my hand, recognise me when I have ceased to recognise myself and be the last human touch I may feel before I die. But I do not think, at the same time, that you deserve a family life.”

Today in Parliament we have laid an order to ban overseas care workers from bringing dependants. This is just one part of our plan to deliver the biggest-ever cut in migration 👇

Exactly two months ago, children in Gaza held a press conference in english to beg the world to stop the bombardment. More than 12,000 children have been killed since then. No one listened.

I’m a medical registrar. I’ve been a qualified doctor for 10 years, in training for 16. Out of hours, I’m the most senior physician on site caring for acutely unwell patients. I recently returned from paternity to work 60% as it’s the only way we could make childcare work. (1/4)

Reeling from fact that @JamesCleverly thinks it’s hilarious to joke about putting “a little bit of rohypnol” in his wife’s drink every night because it’s “not really illegal if it’s only a little bit”. The actual Home Secretary, joking about date rape. Staggeringly awful.

In case you need to hear this today: please be kind to yourself. This job is relentless and, for all the moments of joy, it can be seriously tough. You are a person before you’re a teacher and you deserve to be both happy and healthy.

I will say it again and again. Teachers need more non contact time, that means more funding and also more teachers. Until this is addressed there will be little impact in the current system on workload beyond tinkering at the edges.
John Dickens@JohndickensSW

Super policy piece on what next to tackle workload ‘Teachers said that workload pressures are being exacerbated by an increase in behavioural incidents and a decline in external support services available to schools (especially for pupils with SEND)’ 👇
