"It was a moment that changed my life. In that second I stopped to question almost everything I had been taught about the past. How often had I overlooked women’s contributions?" Sandi Toksvig

On Monday Boris Johnson’s Gov’t will rush the Policing bill through the Commons. It contains some of the most draconian crackdowns on the right of peaceful protest any of us have seen in our lifetime. Everyone needs to watch this so please RT. Johnson’s Gov’t must be stopped

The important testimonies women are sharing of the male violence & harassment they face should lead to real action from parliament including on the call for public sexual harassment to be a criminal offence and against appallingly low rape conviction rates.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-563577…

Nurses' pay has fallen by around 10% in real terms since 2010, while the wealth of the UK's richest 1,000 people rose from £336 billion to £742 billion. Let's tax the super-rich and give NHS staff the pay rise they deserve.

Students are suffering the worst university experience of any in my memory. Paying rent for rooms they cannot access, paying fees for lectures over Zoom, no real social life. The Education Secretary's priority? "We need new fines for students who don't do what we tell them."

A heartwarming story of a young boy born to affluent parents, sent to an elite private school, then Oxford, who got a job in investment banking, before becoming the wealthiest MP in Parliament and voting for policies that plunged millions of working class people into poverty...
Rishi Sunak@RishiSunak

Growing up I never thought I would be in this job (mainly because I wanted to be a Jedi). I'm honoured that on this day last year the PM asked me to serve as Chancellor. It's been incredibly tough but thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.

What children need when the pandemic is over: children’s centres, playgroups, youth clubs, sports clubs, swimming, music & drama groups, days out, birthday parties, visits to museums, the theatre, cinemas, residentials, outdoor ed. What they don’t need: more maths and English.

@MissD_Y5 Just taught subtracting fractions (today's lessons focused on mixed numbers) and we were going to power through and do decimals but after the past 2 weeks I am questioning that decision!

I’ve braved teaching fractions remotely. It’s had about a 50% success rate. Debating whether to pick a new topic after half term and revisit & finish fractions when back at school - Year 5 teachers, what have you done??

To @GavinWilliamson and @NickGibbUK, When you say: 'you want schools open again' What you mean: 'you want schools open for all children.' I think that is what you are saying!

@MissStanleyYr6 If you're using google classroom, download talkandcomment.com which then allows you to do a voice comment on their work and submits that - no typing at all then. Best thing discovered for GC to reduce workload but still effective marking!
