Updating my year 7 curriculum for the Autumn term. The pupils will be learning about key events and individuals from the 20th century. Here’s one on Nelson Mandela. A little chronology exercise and some scholarship. Trying to embed key skills early #historyteacher

@MissSNG_hist @MissFolorunsho It’s the work of our full team so wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing other peoples efforts but it did only take an hour with 5 staff working on it in a meeting! Plus the questions are tailored towards our misconceptions not the full specification as such so may not be that helpful

This week all Year 11 students are receiving revision quizzing booklets to help support their independent revision at home. The original idea was from @MissFolorunsho so she deserves full credit but it literally took us a department meeting to create 🧵

In case no one has told you for a while, you’re doing a great job. The children are learning. They are safe. They enjoy school. You will almost certainly be doing a significantly better job than you give yourself credit for. You are making a difference.

Year 11 made some snakes and ladders games. I’ve been experimenting with getting them to create their own revision resources lately. Very impressed with some of these!

@emj67661312 @BMHistoryLincs Unforeseen circumstances have made the number higher, which makes it feel worse because my other gcse classes are smaller! It’s hopefully not forever but don’t want to let them down in the meantime. Thank you! X

@MissSNG_hist Jeez big class, maybe split the class into 4/5 groups and take in books/booklets in small groups more regularly to check understanding over time? Lots of talk and debates?
