Port Macquarie Coastal Warriors is a volunteer organisation with an aim to prevent litter ending up in the sea. Reaching out and involving your students in the community makes a unit of work more realistic and relatable. #UoNteach #educ4750 #SDG14 portnews.com.au/story/7606470/…

A great introductory video into #sdg14 and the main issues with Life Below Water; overfishing, pollution, and rising sea temperatures. Engaging students with a video is a great way to introduce a lesson. #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach youtube.com/watch?v=pMp2ra…

Introducing LEGO into our classroom is a great way for students to learn through play-based activities. Use LEGO to design a model that reduces plastic waste in our oceans and works towards a sustainable future. #sdg14 #educ4750 #UoNTeach
The Ocean Cleanup@TheOceanCleanup

To develop large cleanup systems, you sometimes need to step away from the laptop and visualize things differently. Our team used LEGO to simulate System 003 operations and plan logistics for this first full-scale system (1800m span) that we aim to deploy later this year.

@bayleighEDUC It would definitely be great for students to investigate the reason behind melting ice caps. The Antarctic plays such a massive role in the Earths ecosystems and they're essential in sustaining life on Earth.

Ice shelves serve as a natural buffer, protecting Antarctic glaciers from melting. If these don't exist and the glaciers melt, all the new water could drive a rise in sea level for decades. Let's teach our students about what is happening to our plant! #SDG14 #educ4750 #UoNTeach

The Conger Ice Shelf, a mass of ice spanning approximately 460 square miles, has collapsed. You can help Antarctica by signing on to secure the largest act of ocean protection in history! Visit the link to make your voice heard. l8r.it/uTBu #CallonCCAMLR #ActNow
