Want a lesson idea that involves problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration with a focus on plastic consumption? Collect recyclable items and ask students to create and design an everyday item with the materials provided. #UoNTeach #educ4750 #SDG12

@Miss_RTurner It also encourages the local community to be involved as well! Maybe students could sell the products to the community to raise funds for their school even.

These stats are shocking. Oz Harvest Education has so many incredible ideas and resources to educate children about the impact food waste has on our environment. I have downloaded the resources, will you? #UoNTeach #educ4750 #SDG12
OzHarvestEducation@OzHarvestEdu

Sadly we had to update our FEAST poster as on average, Australians waste 312 kgs of food/y instead of 268 kgs in our last edition. Another reason to continue our fight against food waste and educate children on its impact on the environment. Download it: education.ozharvest.org/home-resources/

What a great cross curriculum approach! STEM skills and sustainability practices were applied in an interdisciplinary approach. Students learn to reduce their food waste and learn how to cook delicious meals! #UoNTeach #educ4750 #SDG12

New chefs on the block!🧑‍🍳🍴 Piara Waters PS students created their own cookbook as part of 'FEAST' Food Education and Sustainability Training. Students learnt, cooked and ate their way through the program as they developed STEM skills and knowledge with @OzHarvest WA.

Love this idea! Schools could altogether phase out bringing waste to school. Not only does is encourage reducing plastic consumption but also healthy eating. I'm sure parents would get on board if the plastic was returning home. #UoNTeach #educ4750 #SDG12
bayleigh@bayleighEDUC

The waste-Free lunch challenge is a great way for students to be more aware of over-packaging in food! Schools could hold a waste fee lunch to reduce litter and unnecessary packaging and encourage healthy eating! #SDG12 #SDG3 #UoNTeach #EDUC4750
