Mayor Garcetti has signed the 41.18 criminalization ordinance into law.

Every LA City Council Member except for @mikebonin and @nithyavraman voted to pass 41.18, which criminalizes sitting, sleeping, and lying down in many public spaces throughout LA. Unless @MayorOfLA vetoes it, the ordinance will take effect in 31 days. tinyurl.com/NoOn4118

My experience with 41.18 has left me distrustful of the city to do the right thing. It's election time for many of the council. Some are running for mayor and trying to outhate the Unhoused community. youtu.be/vIQ3iErIaYg0

Dear @MayorOfLA, it's your turn to make the choice and show LA that you will do what is right to save lives. Your choice will save lives or it will lead to more deaths. Stop displacing unhoused people during a pandemic. #ServicesNotSweeps

URGENT: We need 1,000 emails to @MayorOfLA tonight. He heard us and canceled a Xmas eve sweep, avoiding a PR nightmare, but the sweep has been rescheduled for 12/28. COVID still exists. Lives are still at stake. He can cancel this and all sweeps now. #ServicesNotSweeps
