Washington State DYSTOPIA ~ NOBODY KNOWS April 28, 2026 1. I called the Lewis County Assessor to find out why my property taxes have increased 33%. The Assessor couldn't explain HB 2049 (2025) mathematical calculation and told me to contact the State Treasurer's Office, open 10:00am to 2:00pm. 2. I called the new mortgage servicer, who told me that the property tax increase of 33% is based on the "predicted" property taxes for May 2026 to April 2027, information was received from the Lewis County Assessor’s Office. 3. I called WA State Treasurer's Office, and they told me to contact the WA Dept. of Revenue, which concocts mathematical formulas for all taxes. 4. I called WA Dept. of Revenue, who told me they have NO idea who even works in the Property Tax Dept. anymore and that they'll have to do some research because no one really knows how to calculate the School Enrichment Levy (HB 2049) at WA Dept. of Revenue. 5. I've put in a 4th call to Lewis County Auditor’s Office to speak to Ross Nielsen, the auditor, himself. I'm waiting for a call back. Pastor T.L. Automakers earn up to $100 per vehicle per year selling your driving data to insurance companies. The 2027 federal mandate makes the cameras universal. Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Bill requires passive impaired driving detection in every new car by September 2027. NHTSA missed its November 2024 deadline because no system can hit the required 99.9% accuracy, and even 99.9% strands tens of millions of sober drivers per year. The deadline stands anyway. 90% of new cars already track your driving every 3 seconds: speed, braking, phone use, exact location. Automakers route that data to LexisNexis and Verisk, who repackage it for insurance companies. GM ran the program through OnStar Smart Driver until the New York Times exposed it in 2024. The FTC banned GM from selling driver data for five years. Zero financial penalty. The 20-year consent order requires consent at the dealership and changes nothing about the underlying business model. Every other automaker doing the same thing read that settlement as a permission slip with light paperwork. The 2027 mandate adds infrared cameras, pupil tracking, breath sensors, and behavioral pattern analysis to that feed. The law mandates collection. It says nothing about sharing. Today you can decline OnStar enrollment. After September 2027, the car will not start without the biometric pipeline running. The downstream is your insurance premium. Carriers already buy your hard braking and speeding events. Add eye tracking, fatigue patterns, and passive BAC sensing, and the feed gets 10x richer overnight. Progressive's Snapshot and State Farm's Drive Safe are voluntary today. The 2027 cars ship with no opt-out. Every new car after September 2027 becomes a continuous biometric terminal. The output goes to whoever pays for it. The federal government wrote the mandate. The data brokers wrote the business plan.

Nov 2024: Spirit files for bankruptcy. 2026: Trump admin is considering bailout of Spirit, with the federal government potentially receiving ownership in the company. So instead of JetBlue and Spirit combining to form a formidable low cost competitor for the big 4 airlines, the taxpayers will be on the hook to save a failing company that will offer them low cost airfare subsidized by money taken from their paychecks.
