How quickly someone answers you is rarely a sign of how much they care about you. Delayed replies to emails, texts, and calls are often symptoms of being overwhelmed. Unless it's urgent, the true test of a relationship isn't the speed of response. It's the quality of attention.

@teachergoals Emphatically NO. If you get a little joy, wear it and share it. Be mindful and sensitive always, but joy is a contagion we ALL need more of.

The longer I work in psychiatry, the more & more I'm reminded that poverty is one of the most harmful factors (if not the most harmful factor) affecting peoples' mental health.

Unfortunately, we don't allow time for students to be curious or creative in our educational system. Traits that are highly desirable in the real world for which we claim to prepare them.

Education is not student centered, but it is relationship centered. Principals who build relationships with teachers will get their best & teachers who build relationships with students will get their best.
