@Cardinals Tried to watch the game on the new Cards channel on Spectrum & just get a blue screen that says Programming 7 with the Spectrum logo. Hope it’s fixed by Thursday.
@bluetopknot@TheJacobTurner They were scheduled to be here for two games earlier this month, but they were pushed to July because of significant rain. Both games are sold out.
@TheJacobTurner It would be interesting if the Savannah Bananas came through and filled the stadium up just to make a point. They recently sold out Raymond James and the Rays are barely filling a minor league stadium.

"This doesn't even feel like the big leagues."
This was my reaction to seeing Busch Stadium nearly empty last night...
I took this photo a few minutes before the St. Louis Cardinals took the field.
This is a franchise with:
Brand Power
Rich History
Loyal Fanbase
Yet, Busch Stadium these days looks nothing like it used to.
That brand power has faded.
That rich history feels more like old-time stories.
That loyal fanbase is waiting for ownership to step up.
You see those empty red seats?
A decade ago, you would see the same "sea of red," but fans would be cheering, not empty red chairs.
It is a lesson in brand and staying power.
Brand is built over time.
Yet without delivering a great product ~ Brand quickly fades.
It made me remember a line we always preached in pro sports ~ "You are either getting better or worse, there is no staying the same."
For a city I grew up in, a team I grew up cheering for, and a place with a lot of memories ~ My hope is that Cardinals' ownership steps up to bring Busch back to what it used to be.
@NWSStLouis why are sirens still going off in Fenton, MO? They’ve gone off about 5 times tonight but 3 of the times has been after the bad storms. #STLWX
This photo sent to me shows an ambulance unable to reach a caller last night. First responders had to walk down an icy road to do their jobs. Residents cannot get the emergency help that they need. This is just insane.
Terrifying stories - like this one, or a family with a newborn in the NICU stuck trying to get to the hospital - are just heartbreaking.
@blythebernhard@stltoday In years past it was a joint effort with the principal and PTO at my child’s school to show staff appreciation. But this type of principal-restricted spending started last school year and seems to have gotten tighter. The kids and teachers are always the ones who ultimately pay.
Another transparency fail by the SLPS board. No time given for this public meeting, and no livestreaming. And since meeting minutes have not been posted since April, we'll probably never know what happened.

Fired SLPS superintendent Keisha Scarlett plans to appeal:
"It's disappointing to see so many public misrepresentations about this situation. Both I and the dedicated professionals who uprooted their lives to serve this community have been treated unfairly."
@TheHACarpenter@b_miklasz@JFulghamARincon I saw the Cards lose spectacularly to the NYY in ‘03 on my honeymoon. Sounds like the same game. NYY fans we sat by were still mourning Tito Martinez joining our team.
@b_miklasz@JFulghamARincon That would have had to be ‘03, and lineup scratches were an art form for J.D. Drew, but your quotation marks are making me wonder if a certain fun-loving center fielder enjoyed the night life a bit much the night before.
No surprise to see the Cardinals lose the opener to the Yankees.
Just remember: it’s your fault. The fans. Damn you for letting the franchise down again.
(Sarcasm is good therapy.)

@R_Cameron8@TheCatOnBallyTV I heard this earlier this week and thought it was an excellent way to describe it. I’ve been a fan more than 40 years but going to the games isn’t enjoyable right now.
I think it’s kind of crazy to criticize fans for not going to games. It’s their money and they’re going to spend it as they see fit. They are basically entertainment customers who will drop some coin on what they think they’ll enjoy the most.
