It appears that we’re not willing to do the hard work of using the filibuster properly—by making filibustering senators speak. That being the case, we should nuke the filibuster. Unless we change course, Senate Republicans will continue to be beholden to the whims of Democrats.

Anna Paulina Luna is right. John Thune could simply remove the parliamentarian, place a republican in that spot who will motion that the SAVE act only needs 51 votes to pass. They have let a Democrat control how many votes a bill needs since 2012.

Uhhh Roger. I said DNI would declassify Ukraine docs. She turned down my FOIA. I did not relent until she did release the documents. She did. I said DOJ had opened a Brennan grand jury probe. Brennan confirmed it. I said grand jury would be requesting transcripts from Congress on Brennan. They did. House complied. Thune hasn’t. (See today’s story) I reported DOJ was about to augment its prosecution team in Florida. Today I reported former Independent Counsel Joe DiGenova has been dispatched to take over. That’s 4 for 4. When asked whether anyone will be indicted I’ve said no one knows what a grand jury will do but that DOJ has set a goal for this spring on deciding on first indictments. Spring ends June 20. How about a steak dinner on the 21st of June. I buy if I don’t go 5 for 5. We go Dutch if I do. (I don’t accept free dinners as a journalist!) Americans are justified in their frustration about the lack of accountability. But throwing shade at a reporter who’s done the spade work to get the public truths long denied seems counterproductive. Lemme know if you want that steak dinner

Judge Boasberg’s Trump Derangement Syndrome and blatant abuse of judicial power have made one thing clear: he is unfit for the bench. He needs to be impeached by the House and I look forward to his trial in the Senate.

I have seen enough, and heard enough excuses. We cannot let Democrats sabotage this country. If nuking the filibuster is the only way to deliver on wildly popular legislation like the SAVE America Act, then we need to nuke the filibuster and start passing bills.
