@farmingandJesus The Church misinterpreted their Fathers. Its the silliest thing , the lineage can be traced right back to the people you are quoting.

@farmingandJesus Oh you should read some of the comments I’ve been getting on repentance. People saying it’s a work and not necessary for salvation. I just can’t believe this is where we are. It’s gets no more basic than this…

@Aaronaeus I of course believe the Bible is Catholic, whether it supports the papacy and large group of people who call themselves “Catholic” is another story

I read my Bible daily and I’m on my 2nd time all the way through… still Catholic. When can I expect to come to the realization that I need to leave Christ’s established Church?

Ah, I see you've read the Bible cover to cover in one sitting and missed the part where Jesus says, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now" (John 16:12). But please, do tell—when you hit that part about the early Christians gathering on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7), did you also miss the part where they were doing what, exactly? Breaking bread? And when you read James 5:14-16, did you notice they called the elders to anoint the sick and confess sins—was that just a suggestion? Let me ask you: When you read "This is my body" (Matthew 26:26), did you assume Jesus was speaking metaphorically, or did you just not ask what the early Christians thought He meant?

@Aaronaeus When it hits you that there is nothing in there concerning purgatory, prayers to saints and angels, transubstantiation, confession to priests, works based salvation, etc

That's not the teaching or the goodness, when you walk in Church and see people, those arent the righteous, those are the broken, the sinners, those that need the spiritual hospital. The same as the people in the post, those are the broken sinners. Please dont judge Jesus and his teachings by my and everyone else mistakes. We all fall short.

I can prove to anyone via the scriptures that Romanism isn’t biblical Christianity. No one can prove by scripture that adhering to the scriptures is incorrect.

Any religious system that teaches faith + works ultimately makes works the deciding factor. You can have faith, but if your obedience fails, your salvation is on the line, so the final basis isn’t Christ’s finished work, but your performance. That’s the definition of a works based salvation

You are onto something but missing a crucial part. The early Church was not a loose network of independent congregations deciding their own canon. It was a unified body with recognized apostolic authority, which is precisely why questions like "which books are Scripture?" were settled by reference to what the apostolic churches had received and used from the beginning. The same Church, The Bulwark of Truth still exists today.

So hold on, let me get this straight? The Book of Revelation was written around 95-96 A.D. One of the last verses in Revelation has to do with adding and removing books of the Bible. Revelation 22:19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. The First Council of Nicaea convened in 325 A.D. So who gave them permission to remove books? As I'm seeing it, nobody did and they were warned but they did it anyways.

Who is the "true Israel" according to the apostles? Paul answers clearly in Romans 2:28-29 — "A Jew is not one outwardly... but inwardly." And in Romans 9:6 — "Not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel." The early Church unanimously read the prophets' promises of restoration as fulfilled in Christ and the Church — not a future national re-gathering. Justin Martyr, in Dialogue with Trypho (c. 160 AD), argued directly against a Jewish reader that the prophecies pointed to believers in Christ. So the question becomes: Do you follow the plain text of Deuteronomy and Amos, or do you follow how the apostles and the early Church — the very "pillar and bulwark of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15) — interpreted them? If the apostles themselves spiritualized these promises, then reading them as literal national restoration is itself cherry-picking — ignoring how the New Testament reinterprets the Old.

Well, I dont know about the Christian Zion church and their beliefs. I am purely scripture and the scripture is clear on this. Even atter exile, God promised to regather them in the last days: Deuteronomy 30:3-5 — "The Lord your God will restore your fortunes... and gather you again from all the nations... and bring you into the land that your fathers possessed..." Ezekiel 36:24 — "I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land." Amos 9:14-15 — "I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel... they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them." Paul affirms this in the New Testament too: Romans 11:1-2, 29 - "Has God rejected his people? By no means!... For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." Not to memtion Israel/Jews are all over Revelation. They are the climax of Revelation. The Church (all true believers in Christ) is raptured/resurrected with Christ witnessing. The whole climax of Revelation is centered around the unbelieving jews that are “backed into a wall” in the final moments during his second coming and they all bow down and confess Christ. God does Not go back on his word. If he did, we dont have salvation. It is Written.

Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ
Zion in the new testament is about heaven not the land The promises to Abraham and his seed is fulfilled in Christ not to ethnic jews Ethnic jews have to come to faith in Christ just like any other person There is no end times mass jewish conversion The promises are to those in Christ This isnt hate or antisemitism This is preaching the truth because a large group of Christians are blinded by a false doctrine that originated in the 19th century

Wrong interpretation of the Bible = not a Christian and going to hell, but also there is no established authority able to interpret the Bible. Is this not an eternally consequential game of crapshoot?

Is Grok wrong, the apostles wrong, etc... Jesus established a church, even the debate about this is silly, Jesus established a Church, the Bulwark of the truth, the same Church exists today, what does The Bulwark of the truth say? But you dont believe the Bulwark of Truth that Jesus put in place. The pattern is clear

Catholics use the longer Greek Canon for the Old Testament, overwhelmingly preferred by the Apostles. Protestants use the shorter Hebrew Canon for the Old Testament, overwhelmingly preferred by the Pharisees. And that’s why Catholic Bibles have more books.

@ShaneSchaetzel Yes, you use the Greek which takes out the symbolism….. It is no wonder you don’t understand who the “rock” is in Matthew 16…. You ignore the 100+ verses that explain this.
