Howard’s wife, Kara Box, was right there filming but instead of calming things down, she pushed it further, shouting things like “You’re not gonna shoot my husband!” Gunfire broke out. Howard was hit multiple times in the arm, torso, head and later died at the hospital. The Millers were arrested for murder and initially posted a shockingly low $25k bond before a viral video led to a re-arrest and a higher bond. By 2019, they were out again without issues. At the 2023 trial, Johnnie was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 14 years (eligible for parole after 7), while Michael was acquitted.
