Today I'm going to begin a daily post on using academic vocabulary during the school day. The first post is how to use academic vocabulary during hallway transitions. For primary grades concentrate on using one academic word. Intermediate grades use more.

I get heated when newspapers and politicians refer to improved reading in MS as the "Mississippi Miracle". It's straight from the slop-trough of disconnected elitism. The only miracle is they'd rather let kids fail than take guidance from "those people".
