@fuckyouiquit So the problem with that logic is reimbursement from Social Security is dependent upon your earnings. So if you remove the cap, all you’re doing is deferring income to those folks when they retire. Social Security is not tax is an investment.

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.

So I’m not sure, respectfully I agree on the too small thesis. The US Navy has maybe 50 ships deployed to the gulf and eastern Mediterranean Sea. Many of those are part of the 5th fleet based out of Bahrain. The 2 carrier groups and 2 marine amphibious assault ships and who knows how many submarines. That being said: this represents less than 20% of active hulls. That leaves at least 200 plus capital ships at sea. Same for airforce, army and Marines. The carriers are stretched now especially following fire on the Ford. Anyway, what say you?
