@ggyo882600 @EndgameaiChess You would have a much much higher potential if you limited it to under 15 yes, but GM/2700 no not at all. Every current 2700 started playing chess before the age of 8. Far too many crucial developing years are lost if you start at 13/14. You need legit TALENT to reach 2700.

What about people who become polyglots as adults? They’ve passed the “neuroplasticity” window, yet they’ve memorized hundreds of patterns

@ModestFFAHomes @EndgameaiChess I don’t think he was exclusively referring to children, since nobody has really attempted this it’s entirely theoretical but I believe with necessary funds to pay for GM help, then achieving 2700 is within reason. Of course not for someone who’s near death or mentally handicapped

No one who has a ton of money would be stupid enough to think they could be a top chess player because they probably understand how neuroplasticity works. No grandmaster on the planet, started playing as an adult.
