If not for the kind of democracy we practise in Nigeria where party structures and political gatekeepers often determine who gets the opportunity; Oriyomi Hamzat wouldn’t even need to “join politics” to prove leadership. His influence, relevance, and impact have already shown what many public office holders couldn’t achieve with power. Sometimes, the real leaders are not those inside government… they are those the people already trust outside it.

Politics usually starts with promises. But sometimes, a candidate enters the race with expectations already attached to his name. That is the position Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat finds himself in. People are not asking who he is, they are asking what comes next. And that kind of pressure is different. It means the conversation has already moved beyond introduction.

Don’t let anyone gaslight you coz facts no dey hide. On the 17th of January, we set a record many are still struggling to comprehend—the biggest declaration ever made in recent years. Now, one single local government has raised the bar again. If it were easy, others would have done it but they can’t. That’s the difference between noise and real grassroots strength. Truth is, the fear is obvious. Those who claim dominance are the ones watching closely, unsettled by a movement they can’t control. Influence isn’t declared, it’s demonstrated, and what we’re seeing speaks volumes. If you believe in Oriyomi Hamzat, say it with your full chest. It’s not every day you get a candidate who is credible, reliable, sellable, and deeply rooted with the people. If na dem get Oriyomi Hamzat for their camp, this app no go contain us. Grassroots to the core. This one no be slogan, na reality. ©️ BIO

If Gov Seyi Makinde openly backs Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat today, many people will instantly call him the candidate to beat. That alone should make us pause. Does endorsement suddenly create capacity, or does it simply validate what already exists? Because if one political signal can change public perception overnight, then maybe the real question is not about who is capable… It is about what people are choosing to recognize.

I sat down today and began to think, what exactly did GSM do between 2015–2019 that earned him such a convincing victory in 2019? Was it polished English? A powerful CV? Or was it compassion, empathy, visible impact, and a connection with the people? We all know the answer. So if you claim to believe in Gov Seyi Makinde or say you have enjoyed the governance in Oyo State, yet you dismiss the candidacy of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, then let’s be honest. It is not about capacity. It is not about the people. It is simply about party loyalty. Anything else is just packaging.

Let’s be honest, Oyo State is not suffering because we lack politicians. We are suffering because we lack leaders with presence, courage, and real connection to the people. Many aspirants are popular only during election season. But some names have remained relevant because the people already know their voice, their consistency, and their commitment. That’s why Oriyomi Hamzat’s entry is not just another ambition. It is a statement. When a man builds trust before power, he doesn’t need to beg for acceptance. He only needs to show direction. Oyo politics is changing, and some people are already uncomfortable.

MY CONFIRMATION AS STATE PUBLICITY SECRETARY, ACCORD OYO STATE I am deeply honored to inform the good people of Oyo State, members of the Accord family, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers that on Tuesday, I was officially confirmed as the substantive State Publicity Secretary of Accord, Oyo State. This great responsibility is one I embrace with humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serve our people with integrity, clarity of purpose, and unwavering dedication. Accord, as many know, is more than a political party. It is a movement that champions oneness, progress, and people-centered governance. At its heart is a vision to build a society where every citizen—young or old has a voice, a fair chance at prosperity, and a place in the development agenda. It is this philosophy of inclusiveness and genuine service that inspires my loyalty to the party and strengthens my resolve to contribute meaningfully to its mission. My appointment as the State Publicity Secretary is not merely a personal achievement; I see it as a call to higher service, an opportunity to communicate the values, goals, and aspirations of Accord in a manner that resonates with the everyday struggles and hopes of our people. Oyo State is blessed with vibrant communities, rich cultural heritage, intellectual brilliance, and a resilient population. As Publicity Secretary, I am committed to projecting these strengths and engaging the public with transparency, credibility, and respect. To the youth of Oyo State, this moment is especially for you. We are living in a time when young people are increasingly asserting themselves across leadership spaces, proving that capacity, courage, and creativity are not defined by age. My appointment reinforces the fact that when we prepare ourselves, remain focused, and stay consistent, opportunities for leadership will find us. It is also a reminder that we have a duty—not only to dream of a better society but to participate actively in building it. I encourage every young person across the state to refuse to be discouraged by socio-economic challenges. Instead, let us channel our energy into innovation, civic engagement, community impact, and responsible participation in politics. The future of Oyo State and Nigeria at large depends significantly on our ability to stand up, speak up, and show up. To members of Accord, I extend my sincere appreciation for the trust placed in me. I am aware of the weight this office carries, and I pledge to uphold the principles that define our party: unity, fairness, accountability, and progress. I will work tirelessly with our leaders, faithful members, and supporters across all zones to strengthen our communication structure, amplify our message of hope, and ensure that the voice of Accord remains strong, clear, and people-focused. To my family, friends, mentors, and supporters who have been pillars of encouragement, thank you for believing in me. Your prayers, advice, and support remind me daily that leadership is not a solitary journey but a shared responsibility. As I step fully into this role, I do so with the conviction that Oyo State deserves the very best—from its leaders, its institutions, and its public servants. I am ready to contribute my part to that vision. Together, let us work for a more united, progressive, and people-driven Oyo State. Thank you, and God bless Oyo State. God bless Accord. God bless Nigeria. Badru Idris Oriyomi State Publicity Secretary Accord, Oyo State. Badruidrisoriyomi@yahoo.com

Oyo 2027 is not just another election, it is a call to serve. A call to choose someone who understands the people, not from reports, but from real life. Service is not what you start when you get into office, it is what you have been doing long before now. That is why many are looking in one direction. When the time comes, Oyo will not just choose a leader, it will answer a call.

There is a quiet revolution happening in Oyo politics. People are no longer impressed by slogans and ceremonial appearances. They are paying attention to consistency, courage, and who has truly built a relationship with the public over time. The next governor will not just be elected by party strength. He will be elected by public belief.
