Regardless of how this plays out, this is a total "actions have consequences" comeuppance for Pat Verbeek, after years of nickel and diming his good players in negotiations and lowballing them. And I love when the universe once in a while spits out a truly just result.

Just checked all of the Ducks contracts... not one of their re-signings have signing bonuses, including the massive 8yr $72M deal Jackson LaCombe signed. Only one is Chris Kreider, who was acquired via trade. That could be a real potential key to all of this. #IgniteTheOrange

@joshbeleaf The impressive part to me here is baiting the down low play to freeze the two defenders. Make Bjorck look a lot more open than he actually was. Both D hesitated, neither moved their sticks into the passing lane. It was pretty deceptive IMO. Simple yes but deceptive.

I’m not trying to rip on Stenberg at all, because he’s a the most complete player in the draft. But so many of his points are like secondary assists on the powereplay or a simple play like this where you’re like this is what gets me excited to take this guy 1st overall?

Reading the tea leaves here as it currently stands: I expect Vatrano to be traded, I’m beginning to doubt either Carlson or Trouba is coming back though I think Trouba a bit more likely. Could also see them trying to find a taker for Kreider. Leo gets 8 x 10 and Cutter gets 8 x 9
