The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) has one of the few labs in the world which can study Ebola virus. In March 2025 RFK Jr had it shut down. We now have a huge Ebola outbreak on our hands. What a foolish move

@abierkhatib That's ok as long as you keep your noses and greedy mitts (that's hands for English slang) out of and off the natural wealth of other countries. You have plenty of your own apparently.

@FBPolitic @JasonInTheHam @DrNeilStone A new strain dear. May not be very contagious but 1 in 3 purportedly die. Complacency kills and yet there are still idiots about risking the lives of others.

@FullFact @MonkEmma @Conservatives Obviously there are some not paying their fair share of taxes because they buggered off to avoid paying it. Why should they give up the chance of another villa in their portfolio!

The @Conservatives’ Alternative King’s Speech claimed the welfare bill is higher than income tax receipts “for the first time ever”. We’ve heard this a few times recently, but it’s not true. Welfare spending (including pensions) has been higher for years. fullfact.org/economy/income…

@ZelenskyyUa And all these men scarred for life for what exactly? Shame on war starters, who if they couldnt hide behind their leadership would be tried in civil courts as serial murderers. They are the strange boy you sat next to at school. They are nobodies but they are evil

205 Ukrainians are home. Today, warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service are returning from Russian captivity. This is the first stage of the 1,000-for-1,000 exchange. Among those released are privates, sergeants, and officers. Most of them had been in Russian captivity since 2022. They defended Ukraine in Mariupol and at Azovstal, in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kyiv sectors, and at the Chornobyl NPP. I thank everyone working to bring our people home – first and foremost, our warriors, who replenish Ukraine’s exchange fund, and our team. I thank all partners who help free Ukrainians from captivity. We will continue to fight for every single person who remains in captivity.

@EricLDaugh Good luck with that Tommy! What a berk. He owns the flight companies does he? The countries being returned to can quite easily deny aircraft landing. Yes, we can safely say he's as stupid as he looks.

🚨 JUST IN: Islamists and leftists are FURIOUS after Tommy Robinson gave the perfect answer Q: What would happen if you become a prime minister tomorrow? ROBINSON: "I would STOP Islam, I'd END foreign funding in this country. All the migrants would be taken out the hotels and sent back tomorrow by the military!" Holy based! "I would have re-migration. It's time for many Muslims to leave this country. You've got your homes to go to. This is our home. We've got nowhere to go to!" "We're not allowing it to change any longer. You've seen today, people have fed up then. People are FED UP!" 🔥 This is the way, western man! h/t Veronika Rogoyska @TRobinsonNewEra

How on earth has Angela Rayner been "cleared" by HMRC? She didn't pay the extra £40,000 stamp duty that was due. She didn't take the specialist tax advice on her flat purchase that she was advised to take. She failed to pay the extra stamp duty that she, as Housing Secretary, had brought in for second home purchasers. For HMRC not to issue a fine means they judged her decision as "reasonable care" having been taken, or it was possibly "careless", but not a "deliberate" underpayment. She clearly did not take "reasonable care" to ensure her tax was correct. And if it was "careless", it was *deliberate* carelessness. Do you seriously think that if YOU underpaid your taxes by £40,000 as the then Deputy Prime Minister did, that you would get away without a fine? Sorry, but this stinks.
Pippa Crerar@PippaCrerar

EXCL: Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC of deliberate wrongdoing or carelessness over her tax affairs, paving the way for a potential leadership bid if Keir Starmer’s grip on power unravels. The former DPM has settled £40,000 in unpaid stamp duty, but has not paid any penalty as a result of the investigation. HMRC was also satisfied there was no tax avoidance. Rayner tells me she was “bruised” by whole experience because of intrusion into her disabled son’s personal life, but also because it had appeared as though she was “in it for myself” rather than on the side of ordinary people. Rayner indicated she may run in event of a contest as she would “play my part” and that she understood why Labour MPs were so upset following last week’s election crushing. She said Starmer should “reflect on” stepping aside.

Nigel Farage is now being investigated by the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for not declaring his £5 million gift. I read If guilty, he could be forced to resign and it could be the end of Reform as we know it. Nigel Farage is against lifting the 2-child benefit gap which helps struggling families but it’s okay for him to accept a £5 million gift to support his lifestyle.

On this day in history, 32 years ago… John Smith, the Labour Party leader, was 55 years old when he died from a heart attack on May 12, 1994. He once said: “People in Britain today are angry: not just disappointed, not just disillusioned, but angry. They are angry at the state of Britain; angry at the total absence of leadership; angry at the absence of vision; angry at the hypocrisy and double standards; and they are angry at the incessant incompetence of a Government they no longer respect and increasingly despise.” And tragically, his words of wisdom (aimed against the Tory government) could equally apply to Keir Starmer’s government of today.

@IRodwell55888 @SteveReedMP It reduces the number of irresponsible landlords considerably and increases the number of homes to buy at lower monthly payments than rent. Only issue is so many of these dumped properties are in such bad state it'll take buyers money and time to get them to reasonable condition.

Today marks the biggest shake-up of renters’ rights in a generation. The Renters’ Rights Act: ✅ends Section 21 evictions ✅limits rent rises to once a year ✅bans bidding wars ✅and stops discrimination against families, benefit claimants and pet owners.

@IRodwell55888 @SteveReedMP If that's the case, what will happen to those properties? They won't just disappear. Why would you want to raise the rent more than once a year? Why would you want to kick out a person from what they consider home just because you can get more rent from another client?

@JamesMelville I sometimes wonder whether they bumped John off. I was always suspicious that old fashioned Labour John Smith was replaced by globalist Tony Blair. After all, plenty of politicians have been replaced the old fashioned way.
