2028 SS/UT | Defensive highlights | 2 double plays today 🥎 I feel like I usually post more hitting highlights, but I’m going to make an effort to share more of the defensive side of my game too. Hits are exciting, but defense wins games, and honestly it’s just as fun to me. Today I turned 2 double plays, and saw a lot of action at SS, with 0 errors. I’m so proud of the way my team competed all weekend. The one time I needed gamechanger to be recording and it wasn’t! Not the best video, so let me set the scene: it was tied 5-5, last inning, two outs, and I get up to bat. I knew I HAD to get on and I had to score. I hit a nice double to right center. But I wasn’t done there. The fielder throwing it into the pitcher threw it a little short, and as soon as it hit the dirt, I was off. Made it to 3B. The catcher picks up the ball, tosses it to the pitcher, and she turns her back and walks back to the mound, so casually. WHEN I TELL YOU I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT! Literally have talked about this exact scenario. With her back turned, I took off and made it home for the winning run. THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS GAME. It truly doesn’t get more fun than this! And that’s what it all boils down to- fun! Only two more tournaments in this jersey! These last tournaments aren’t about wins or stats. Yes, I’m 16 and every game means something in my recruiting journey this year. But for two weeks I’m putting it aside. My goal is to really focus on appreciating my teammates and making our final memories together. It’s about the moments we’ll look back on in 20 years. Busy week! No games during the week this week so that meant 5 days in the gym, in lessons, and at practice! I’ve made a lot of gains in the gym just in the last two weeks. This week I was able to add 10 lbs to my squat, 6 more total reps, and faster on the velocity tracker. Excited to see where I’m at the end of summer!
