As a Kurd, I sincerely hope my people stop allowing themselves to be used as cannon fodder for the interests of others. Kurds in Iraq routinely go 6-10 months without monthly salary. People barely make it month to month. Landlords have not collected from renters for years because people cannot afford to even exist. The recent winter season rains destroyed the homes of so many people. Who is supporting them now? So why on earth should Kurds go to war? Who would they be fighting for? What would they be fighting for? More land for more corruption? More animosity from Arab, Turkic and Persian neighbors? Kurds have endured so much already and have enjoyed relative stability for the last two and a half decades now. Being used as a condom for Trump after he just dropped you in Syria is outrageous. And how can you go to war with such little training against a professional conventional army? It is suicide. If the Americans fail, they will leave. But the Kurds have nowhere else to go and have no choice but to live next to their neighbors. The backlash for yet another proxy war would be palpable. So long as Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria respect Kurdish rights and dignity, there is no need to shed blood. And no one can deny that Kurds have more rights and dignity than ever before in these nations. Nationalism is a disease. Independence is a tool of empire to divide and conquer from a safe distance. I only support Palestinian independence because they under Jewish supremacists who subject them to rape torture and goyim class status. The region must think beyond Sykes Pikot borders and European ethno nationalism. One region for all peoples with collective security and opportunity. Fuck Israel Zionism and imperialism.
