If you want to understand why Iran and its militias are targeting the Kurdistan Region of Iraq- especially areas controlled by the KDP- it’s actually quite simple:
These are some of the only parts of Iraq that are not under Iranian influence.
Across most of Iraq, Iran has strong control through political allies and militias like the PMU. But in KDP-controlled areas, that influence is limited. These regions have their own security forces, stronger ties to the West, and more independence. That makes them a problem for Tehran.
So the attacks aren’t random. They’re about pressure- sending a message, weakening Kurdish autonomy, and expanding influence step by step.
If this continues, clashes between Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Iran-backed militias are not unlikely in the near future.

CIA source tells me the CIA has hard evidence that Turkey, and more specifically the Erdogan @RTErdogan administration, has specifically directed spending for podcasters to undermine the Trump administration’s Middle East agenda.
The CIA has evidence of this Turkish funding going to at least one female podcaster and at least one male podcaster.
Turkey is the largest financier of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Six Peshmerga lost their lives because of Iranian ballistic missiles.
30 Peshmerga were wounded.
No one will be held accountable.
Why? Iraq is in Iran’s back pocket.
Iraq won’t stand up to the Mullahs in Tehran.
Kurdistan Region is forced to be under Iraq, yet Iraq won’t defend its own airspace.
What does this mean? Kurdistan Region is held hostage because Iraq doesn’t respect its own sovereignty when it comes to Iran but it’s all about “territorial integrity” when it comes to the Kurdistan Region.
Hypocrisy at its finest.
Kurdistan Region must bypass Baghdad and respond as it sees appropriate until Baghdad learns to respect its own sovereignty as it preaches to the Kurds.
